When I recorded a full band from my church in Logic, on channels 1 and 2, something other than kick and snare was recorded. It sounded like an AUX output being recorded... with click, voice, and all of the instruments... Could you tell me what I did wrong with this setup?

Any DAW software which is compatible with ASIO or CoreAudio drivers can be used. A Windows PC needs to have Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver installed. :)

If I implement this setup in this way, the stereo sum is always recorded on channels 1 and 2. Can this be switched off so that channel 1 records input 1 and channel 2 records input 2?

Hello Dennys, you can better set your audio recordings with the software provided with the mixer using a laptop. the mixer can be recorded in stereo which is pretty much the same concept from what i am understanding from your question. with the software or wav. recording all inputs are recorded individually and later you can process your post mix on your DAW of you're choice.\ Hope this helps.

Was trying to record into a pendrive plugging into the USB port, seems the correct usb port and it is reading pendrive but the recording options are still disabled. Why is it so? Any response would be appreciated.😊

Hello Eldhose Baby, is should work but make sure the drive is formatted correctly to fat32 which is normally universal. to test put a drive with music and see if it plays off that drive. and just to be sure it's the first usb port above the ST1 / ST2 knobs. if its still ghosted it maybe a setting just go over it again like inthe video. if not id just reach out to yamaha directly for support. Trying to format a 1TB portable HDD to Fat32 on PC and I see that's impossible so going to try on a Mac. I also tried guiformat and that gives an error that drive is in use. Why does Yamaha and Behringer use such an old file system? I failed to get a board L&R feed awhile back because I formatted a USB flash drive to exfat thinking how it's compatible with both pc and mac only to find out later it had to be fat32. The soundman couldn't get the exfat usb to work and I told him to reformat it while it was inserted into the Behringer X32 and all I heard back from him is crickets. Either he didn't know how to do it or the X32 doesn't format the usb flash drive you have to do it on a computer. I see the TF will format the drive but I prefer to do it before the show in case the soundman don't know how and one less thing to worry about. My whole shoot went in the trash because no audio the video is worthless. Thanks for your video and time.

hello Paul, i do not work for Yamaha but we do sell their products. here is what i found: Description 1. Connect a USB flash drive to the USB device connector. 2. Touch USER SETUP. 3. Touch "Save Load". 4. Press the MENU button. 5. Touch "FORMAT" in the display. 6. Give the volume a name then touch "OK". 7. Touch "OK" once again to confirm. as far as the file system to do on a computer not sure what the steps are. but i also found this video to format to the TF3. here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/omWzZoyEhdCeeNE hope this helps.

@@idjnow-gear-up Thanks for replying! I found the info and they recommend to use a USB external drive formatted to Fat32 which I couldn’t do on my PC only NTFS or Exfat is available but I was able to format the drive to Fat32 on my PC. All is good and thank you once again.

Hello Gio, i would look at the manual it may help resolve the issue there if not you can contact support: usa.yamaha.com/support/index.html i believe you would have to capture the multi tracks on a sd card or USB DRIVE then import the waves files to your recording software and go from there. not entirely sure but thats how some digital boards are. You need to assign your PC sound input to ASIO and choose the TF channel options from your drop-down menu.

@@idjnow-gear-up thanx for rplying…. It works with my pc and daw but now the problem is when i record vocals from condenser mic, the daw gets very less input gain and when i take master fader down no signal shows in daw’s recording track……

@@idjnow-gear-upnow i checked the 24th channel which I’m using for talkback… I connected condenser on 24th channel and selected input source in daw as a 24.. now input signal is showing me in daw…. Then i took that same cable and putted in 1st channel of mixer attached my condenser mic…. Copied 24th channel parameters and pasted in 1st channel…… selected 1 as a input source in daw….. but still there’s no signal coming in daw…. Same for 2nd channel too….. haven’t checked all channels….but it works for 24th channel….. please let me know what’s the issue…. Is it about mixer??? Did i get faulty mixer?

Hello Yash, make sure your mic is plugged in then you have to turn on th 48v on that channel for your mic. hope this helps. thx

I am using the TF with a Mac in a church setting. The TF is set at 48000hz. The Mac keeps kicking it out and to 41,400(?) hz. It does it sporadically but will do it every time I try to use Garage Band. Which than keeps me from using GB. Any thoughts on how to cure this?

Hey Robert, GarageBand is fixed to 44.1kHz Sample Rate and can only work with that Sample Rate.

Im using Pro Tools and Fruity loops and i was wondering if it is posible to get a mono signal to yamaha TF 1 . Cause it only gives me stereo option , so im left with only 4 channels to send from pc to mixer , while i would like to use all of them separately , anyone has any useful information about this problem , since i cant really find any on the google and yamaha support is just ignoring me

Thank you Kurac. Thats a great question. I believe it depends if your just using a sound card with a stereo output or if your just using your headphone output of your P.C. if its for playback its should be ok however you'd probably have to set the output sound in the software and just come out from stereo to a single 1/4 inch input to one of the channels but you also have RCA stereo inputs on the TF1. hope this info helps. feel free to reach us at [e-mail] if you need further assistance.
