I always wanted to be in a band but then I realized that I like reverb more than I like people. This is a perfect guitar for me!
@gingerbeer9146 жыл бұрын
The advantage of the reverb is that it never disagrees... On the other hand: if you want to learn something new, get new insights, constructive feedback from others can make you better, so please don't shut yourself 100% off for others. The best way to get the best from both worlds, is practicing on your own with the help from the Internet (KZbin for instance) and playing on sessions, where there is no real obligation with respect to whether you are there or not and to how perfect your playing should be. That's totally different from when you perform in a band for money. Personally I love Irish sessions and blues sessions.

Seems everyone is missing the point thinking the reverb and chorus are coming through the line out to a speaker. Unplugged the chorus/reverb still comes from the sound hole of the guitar. You don’t need a line out to get it. It has a magic box in the guitar body that vibrates or some such devilry to make reverb and chorus. Cool!

The guitar has an onboard electronic circuit that creates reverb and chorus. That effect can be brought out the output jack to the amp and/or sent to a transducer[think speaker voice coil] which transfers energy to the body of the guitar via its attachment to a rear back brace [think speaker cone] inside the guitar. The effects can be run to both or singlely.

I have the entry level Model CSF-TA There is no way I can go back to a regular guitar. NEVER ! Entry level price is around $650 Brand New. Very hard to find used. People who have them keep them. Is it worth it = Very much so Does not need to be plugged into an amp. The guys in the video should have unplugged them from the amp before reviewing. I see some people are confused concerning this in other comments. Does it sound good = Hell yes Is it of good quality = Very much so Is it easy to play = Yes Only one con , if you forget to turn the guitar off it doesn't shut off automatically and will kill the batteries. 2 AA batteries required. Perhaps the newer models do but mines does not. Does it sound good without the electronics = Yes Would I buy another one = I have 2 acoustic guitars for sale so I can get a different model of this guitar.

So cool! I absolutely must go try one. Now, here's the question. This, or Tonewood Amp? Decisions, decisions...
@scottbecker34854 жыл бұрын
Cpt. James K Morgan I‘ve got a ToneWood Amp and am now STILL very interested in the Yamaha dread. Not too content with having to find the sweet spot for the TWA. If you miss it by a bit and notice that later you want a change, you have to re-seat the magnetic brace on the inside - fine if you haven‘t yet stuck it down, but if you have, then you have to peel it loose and find a way to re-stick it, meaning loosening/removing strings again. For me, I‘d now prefer to have a quick-and-dirty Yamaha to just get the (busking) job done without fiddling with things. Otherwise, though, the TWA is far more adjustable and has more effects - a blessing and a curse. A curse because you have to step through various modes (not too difficult but annoying) to save things, then need to remember what you saved where. And if you intend to switch the TWA between several guitars (one of its big selling points), then you will need to create different effect patches for each guitar. An effect set for a particular guitar can sound way off for another (as in far too muffled or too bright and shouty). It all depends on how you position the TWA in each, and what the overall frequency response is for each guitar across the full spectrum.

I just received my FS TA yesterday. Very happy with the guitar and the amazing reverb and have found it very hard to put down. The action is very well set, but I have found it marginally less playable than my Larrivee OM-40, in that I have to press slightly harder to overcome the string tension especially on barre chords. This is probably because the neck is very slightly thicker, and I believe the strings are heavier gauge. I definitely wouldn’t describe this as a criticism and I’m fairly sure which of the two because I will be playing the most in the next few weeks!

The transducer is, more than likely, making the back of the guitar vibrate which sends the sound not just out the sound hole, but also away from the back making it sound like surround sound. That phenomenon of the reverb and chorus effects projecting through the sound hole and making it sound like it is coming from a source located behind you is exactly the same effect demonstrated by Mike Dawes in his video with Lee a few weeks ago in which he used the Tonewood internal amp to produced exactly the same effect. It is toward the end of the interview. Very cool indeed!
@vulja4 жыл бұрын
I have the FG-TA,the natural color,for about a year now. I am very pleased with it, the effects not only give it a great sound,the guitar sounds much louder as well! FYI, it does drain the batteries pretty quickly, maybe 4 hrs of playin' time,then the effects start to fade,and in 15 mins they turn off. Offcourse,if you re havin gigs, one would prepare the extra batteries. My other fear is - Yamaha does not provide great customer service,and the parts are really expensive. I had the Yamaha cpx 1200 vs, the original tuners were about 200 € new. What would the price be if the actuator that provides the effects broke somehow? Cause when u get used to play with the effects,the dry sound sounds awful, like u can hear on the video here... So,I was thinkin of purchasing the premium model that has wood on all sides, better tuners etc., but would really like to know what would happen if the effect system failed somehow.

Hello, which guitar model do you prefer, “LAG hyvibe” or “Yamaha FG-TA”?
@scottbecker34854 жыл бұрын
Janik Navasardyan Good question, though from the video demos I‘ve seen/heard, the LAG „lags“ (haha) behind in terms of sonic quality, at least with regard to the effects. In particular, the reverb on the LAG sounds a bit tinny and digital. The Yamaha lacks the looper that the LAG has, but who really cares about that? Reverb and chorus are bread-and-butter effects that wed perfectly with the Yamaha. I think I‘m gonna get one.
