Did a similar trip with my two sons and a friend of theirs up north in Quebec. I had a kickstart only DR650, my youngest son a Super Sherpa 250, his friend a TW200 and my older son a TTR225. Four days of awesome trails and good times. Thanks for letting me relive it through your video.

I second that emotion with my 03 TW from out here in Montana! I also have a 95 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 Atv that is equally reliable! With these two machines I can go pretty much anywhere the majority of the year, I just need a Yamaha Viking utility snowmobile (which will be my next acquisition) and I'll have the deep midwinter weeks covered as well and then I'll truly be 365 days a year backcountry mobile!

I've got an 89 TW and the thing is bulletproof. Between me and my friends crashing on it and ragging it out, it has never let me down. the older ones can be contrary to cold start (like mine) but they can handle a lot.

TW200 can't be compared to any other bike on the market. You might call it a "street legal Rokon". They are for EXPLORING, real overland travel, not blasting around dirt circles at 85mph. It will get you further into the outback than any other machine- and get you out- with all your gear. If you're dissing TW, its because you don't understand the bike.

I agree. I have a DR650 and a TW200. I will never sell either bike, but if the situation gets muddy or sandy the DR650 is no match for this small killer bike. It's a real "Break In Case Of Emergency" motorcycle.

I had one of these growing up and it would climb anything and go through any kind of mud. I wrecked it when I was in the 8th grade I was hit head on by a 1978 F-150 and I broke my leg in 4 places and my arm in 4 places and cracked a hip but by god the bike survived we put a set of handle bars on it and sold it to a older guy that rode it for another 20 years. He still has it but it’s blew up now after being ridden for almost 30 years

ok guys I read a bunch of the comments posted & I think most of you must be new to ridding. I have ridden the TW200 & it is heavy & has no power. But I am a fan of the bike for what it is. It has low seat height & is easy to ride. If you want to go fast off road but ride on the street to like this does than it's best to look at a CRF250 or KLX250 or go bigger for more speed. But with the low seat & ease or ridding & quiet exshaust makes this a good choice for woods & trails & or to store.

@kj7687 That said, when the TW wasn't having problems, it was a lot of fun to ride and very capable off road (as long as you go really slow). Highway with stock gearing is terrible, 60 mph is reasonably doable if you change the gearing (also doable with the stock gearing on the Suzuki). Good luck with your decision.

It does great in the sand with those fat tires, pretty good in the snow to up to about a half a foot! Far better on spongy dinky low traction terrain than any other dirt bike save for a Suzuki VanVan 200 which has the same type of tire width. If you ride in the sand a lot and would also like to tackle some mud and snow on occasion to, then the TW or the Van Van are the bike you want!

Awesome Video!! I'm in the market for an enduro, this looks awesome off road, how does this bike preform on the highway? Top Speed, Gas Milage, Price, etc.
@dylanmacaya9166
@dylanmacaya9166 5 жыл бұрын
Top speed on mine with a slightly geared down sprocket is 55 for cruising although it prefers 52 or less for long stints and while I can hit 60 I won't do it for more than a minute or so max because the motor's really screaming at that speed. With stock gearing you should be able to cruise at 55 fairly comfortably with the ability to hit 65-70 for short little spurts but you won't want to press it above 60 for more than a minute or so unless you gear it up but then that will take away the low speed tractability of the bike on slow technical trails. As far as MPG's go I know that most people report getting mid to high seventies or even into the 80's, I average about 72 but I ride mine quite hard 90% of the time so it's pretty good really. For price I know that 7 years ago they were going for around $3500-3700 brand new and now here in 2019 I think that they're selling them for around $4600 new give or take a few hundred dollars. Blame it on the Japanese yen American dollar fluctuations but mostly on general inflation for the price hikes which are typically $100-$200 a year. A used one can run between $800-$4400 dollars depending on year condition and mileage. My 03 TW probably sold in the low $3000 range when it was new that year but I bought it around 09 with just under 2000 miles on it for a real nice price of $1750 when I was living in Idaho but in other parts of the country it might have been going for a thousand more than that in the nice condition it was in. Happy hunting if you go looking for a used one, there are a lot of 'em out there as they've been produced almost continuously, with the exception of a few years in the 90's, since 1987!

@garanater I love this bike. I have purchased a couple over the years. It's easy to drive and really low to the ground. It's a great commuter as well.

@YoungAmericanOutback She gets up to about 70 on the flat. I little faster with a slight downhill. About 4,000 new. I'd get a used one. They are reliable and have not changed in design/technology in years.
