Yamaha Vino 50cc review

The Yamaha Vino is perhaps a neglected scooter that has sold well. Typically bought by hipsters in cities to get from yoga class to indoor climbing class. This scooter has alot of great things.

Have one and absolutely love the thing. I've had it for years, sold it once, and bought it back. Big bad Harley guys even wave to me when they pass. I think they get a chuckle seeing an old'er fat guy on the little thing. Never selling it...again.

I heard of a guy with a 50 cc scooter who would go from fuel station to fuel station and squeeze the gas pump nozzle and get a dribble of gas out of them without turning on the pump and essentially get alot of his fuel for free. ( I don't recommend that anyone do that), but it was still interesting.

I had a friend who drove a motorcycle and worked at a gas station that did this.

@@cowlumbusi doubt it consistently works but yeah i’ve lifted the nozzle real fast and splashed fuel on my car before even selecting my fuel type just left in the nozzle

One thing concerns me, tire size. Riding through potholes could be a unstable occurrence due to circumference size.

Absolutely, the small wheels make it more unstable. But give it a peppy feel that scooters have. The larger wheels feel much more like motorcycles, and more stable.

they are kind of unstable compared to honda versions of same style bike takes bumps badly but only if you hit bumps at full speed , around the city it’s pretty good if you know how to ride

Do you think the C3 is better, for like going on dirt maybe or just in general? I found a Vino buts its 130cc they claim, probably 125, AND its 1000 dollars, very near me, but I really dont kno the reprecussions of getting above 50cc with the paperwork end of things, any input?

I wish the C3 had a wider wind block for the legs, far from a deal breaker, and I love its gas mileage, never ridden any of thsse only a KYCMO

I do think the c3 is better all arounder. It's wide thick tires would be a major improvement in the dirt, and an improvement in potholed filled city street. The vino looks great with its retro styling but with much thinner tires you will feel it so much more.There is a vino 125cc which is great, above 50cc you are looking into getting a motorcycle license. So alot of people stick with 50cc's so you can just use your regular drivers license to drive. I'd go with a c3 if you can find one, but they much rarer than the vinos around here.
