Thanks for the nice review and actually doing a walk-around. Too often most of the bike reviews online they ride the bike and just talk about it, which to me does not give a full review. I'd rather be able to see it in a walk-around and discussion as you did and then perhaps ride to give an overview of how it handles. Since there are many on how it handles...this was good to finally see something the talked about the bike in a stationary place. Mind you I will probably look for a 750 model but I can truly appreciate this review for the POV.

Just writing as i've just seen how many views my vid has had. Hope the review was useful for potential buyers or owners of the bike. To be honest i regret selling it as it was such a good example of this classic bike. I now ride a Suzuki C50 and while it is a lot more powerful and more suited to my needs, I do miss the lightness and character of the 535

This is a very good video for people thinking of buying q Virago 535. I had the same Suzi 125 and got a 535 2002, double the price mentioned, but is in great condition. If you are looking for a cruiser then I would say this is the bike for you. Insurance is group 8 which can not be moaned about/

One of them is the horn, the other is the flasher which flashes you high beam to alert other vehicles of your presence.

Still miss this bike sometimes. I'd love if the current owner could reach out and let me know what they've done to the bike! I checked and it is still on the road, over 35,000 miles now. If anyone has any info on it let me know

Cheers, yea the GZ125 seemed pretty unstable compared to the 535 when cornering. My insurance is only £250 a year, the GZ was £200 a year, so hardly any difference considering the difference in engine size

5 ft 11. To be honest if i was more than 2 inches taller than that i would find it a bit cramped. I sat on a Dragstar 650 the other day which had a lot more leg room. Still, i did a 2 hour trip the other day and i was fresh when i got off the bike, no aches or pains.

I have the 1988 model and having probs with it like fireing and popping back through the carbs at low revs I hear it's kinda normal for these bikes ? Also it's very hard on back when carrying pillion would you suggest softening shocks ? Cheers

can these cruise at 65mph with no strain?
@EazyDuz1810 жыл бұрын
The vibrations start to kick in at that speed and only get worse if you go faster
@TheNostorian7 жыл бұрын
John Mosey late answer but maybe it helps new buyers. My 535 hits 160kmph top 100mph it. I toke my windshield off. So anything above 120kmph or 75 mph loses comfort. Starts vibrating around 120/130kmph but bikes can vary in how people treated it. My bike is 100% stock with intact mufflers.

Combustion69 - Sir, thanks for the video. I am planning to buy a Virago 535, but after reading your comment, I am bit confused whether to go for Virago or Dragstar 650. I need to commute to Steavenage from London every day (45 miles one way, and around 30 miles on motorway). So, around 90 miles I need to do a day, and five days a week. For this journey, would you advise me which one is comfortable, economical, and durable and reliable cruiser? or do you think any other make is better than Yamaha? I am looking to buy only cruiser bikes upto 750 CC. Will highly appreciate your advice.

hi eazyduz18, thanks a lot for the video. I just bought this bike a week ago. I cannot figure out what the buttons on the left handside are. there´s an reserve tank switch, a turn signal switch and horn and two other buttons, one grey just abowe turn signal switch and one red from the front side. what are those?

I'm looking at a 125 version of this bike from 1998(learner) would you think they would be ok to learn on?
@EazyDuz1810 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, I started out with a gz125 which has similarities, it may not be the easiest bike to pass your tests on but its definitely possible

Hey there, I see you have now sold it, how did it go compared to the Marauder 125? i'm 3000 miles into riding a Marauder 125 atm and wondering what to get as my first big cruiser, i'd love a triumph but money wise....would you recommend this or straight for the Dragstar, Honda Shadow etc? cheers
@EazyDuz1810 жыл бұрын
I'd say you could skip this and the 650 drag altogether as they are both pretty slow and do get a bit boring after a while. I have a vl800 now which I'd recommend as your second bike. Or something like a shadow 750 or drag 1100. I did a review of the vl800 and I'm happy with its performance
@dannymcretrogamesartwork44810 жыл бұрын
Hey cheers for that, just watched your review of the VL800, sounds great with those pipes. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks again
