Great video making precious memories, love it! Quick question: Between the two machines is the only difference the motor? Interested to know if most everything else is the same size. Dealers around here are pre order only so I can't sit on both to know if the 450 is too small for me.. 6'4"/ 240lbs. Thanks from Ontario.

Thanks for the nice comment, I'll get back to you on the differences between bothe machines.

They are pretty close in size, height, I think the wheel base is 1.5" wider on the 450, the racks on the 450 are thinner pipe. You're tall and heavy so a passenger seat won't work for you on either machine, they are both short wheel base, the rear axle is tucked up under the machine making it lose ride control with a passenger. I'm 5'9" 200 lbs and I justfit on the 450 with a passenger seat. If you're going it alone both will work well.

There are other small differences like fuel tank location, I think the new 450s come with a dif lock but you might want to check.

@@OpenAirAdventure Thanks for taking the time to get back to me, looks like the 450 with diff lock and power steering will be perfect! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos, have a great day.

Now put 3 gallons of fuel in each and see who gets stuck in the woods. :^) My honda rancher and rubicon aren't the fastest bikes in our group but they are by far the last to fill up. Thats peace of mind when you missed your trail turn off and everyone else is feeding an extra 250+ cc for no reason.

They seem to be equall in fuel economy I'm not 100% My little 450 works harder to keep up with my son's 700 so it may burn more or equall out. I'll fill both atvs and run them for a few hours then refill to see what the outcome will be in comparison fuel economy.

@@OpenAirAdventure The 450 has a 3.7 gallon tank and the 700 has a 4.8 gallon tank. So if you top off then they will probably seem close but that is because the 700 is holding an extra 30% of fuel over the 450. So if you are on long trails and run through your tanks and each grab your 1 gallon spares the 450 is going to make it much further.

@@OpenAirAdventure actually the 700 gets better fuel mileage, my wives 450 sucks way more gas than my 700. She's over half throttle while I'm just cruising along. Plus the 700 is way funner to drive ! Zoom Zoom

@@SuperDave-pe1zw I never did compare but that's good to know. One day I'll have to fill both machines and go for a run then fill them again, but ya the 700 is definitely a nice running machine.

@@OpenAirAdventure yes my wife traded her 2019 kodiak 450 in on a 2021 Kodiak 700, she likes the 700 better and I traded my 2019 kodiak 700 in on a 2021 Grizzly. I love it compared to my kodiak. It's got more room for a tall rider.

So, in conclusion, would a 450 with eps, or a 700 without? Im Sold on the kodiak, but still flipping thru models, I'm hoping for last years model for a discount, but, all info is welcomed!

Here is my opinion on both machines Both score 100 on reliability. Power steering (eps) with or without are fine with me but you lose other options with non-eps such as front differential locking. Obviously a power difference between 700 and 450 but the 450 is very capable. Suspension and tires are same, payload is close and same transmission. 1st..700 eps If you are double riding constantly, playing or working it hard. Ex mud/towing. 2nd..450 eps if you fall below first category. 3rd..450 non-eps base model for trail or farm riding, occasionall passenger and work load. I chose option 3 and no regrets, my 450 performs well and will go anywhere the 700 eps has gone so far.
