Thank you Brother! I was concerned until I watched your video!

You forgot to mention if it is on compression or intake cycle TDC when adjusting, rookies might break their atv. It needs to be on compression cycle otherwise it will not set right. people can see if is comp or intake cycle by testing if there is any play on exhaust and intake valve, if there is none it is wrong cycle to adjust, and you can get piston knocking / pinging and or spark plug late combustion of gas due to late/early timing that can destroy piston cause of excess stress and pressure to piston / piston rings .

I wish I still had this 4 wheeler to redo my video on this, I was new to the youtube tutorials and it's an awful video if I'm going to be honest lol glad you made a straight to the point video on it!

Okay I have an important question. I bought a 98 warrior that's been sitting since 2015 in the garage. Rebuild the carburetor got it to run idle's great but when I go to get on the throttle it will backfire and cut out. I checked the timing and when the bottom crank is at top dead center the top sprocket is just a little bit off of the marker on the side of the case so I adjusted it over one one link and it's off just a tiny bit probably a quarter of an inch. Do you know what would cause that?
@michaeltaylor2772 жыл бұрын
If it’s off like a half a tooth that’s fine I would take the jets out and clean them out a new spark plug in it clean the air filter and put some fresh gas in it the carb could also need adjusted if you took it all apart and cleaned it

On my warrior the exhaust side chain guide isn’t setting in the correct place so I can’t put the top sprocket on am I able to just wiggle it down in there or do I have to pull the flywheel and gears to get it in?
@michaeltaylor2772 жыл бұрын
You might be able to get it in like that but your better off buying a cheap fly wheel puller on eBay for like 20 bucks and do it that way

@@michaeltaylor277 ok that’s what I was assuming would be easier thank you.

I have another question about my 98 warrior. The timing chain tensioner threads on the block are stripped. Should I buy a thread kit drill them out and rethread them? Or what is the best way to fix this issue?
@michaeltaylor2772 жыл бұрын
I’d tap it to the next size up if not your going to need a new cylinder

Theres no perfect point for me when i do the timing on it its damn close

felix valentin mine it the same way
@felixvalentin16184 жыл бұрын
@@tristensilva8448 yeah as many times as i take it off and adjust tdc and line up the cam it still ends up being a tad bit off. I even rotated the engine 2x full cycles and end up the same each time.
@AFondLaCaisse20244 жыл бұрын
felix valentin stretched timing chain maybe?
@Burkley4292 жыл бұрын
That's exactly the issue that I'm dealing with it's either a quarter of an inch off to the right and if I just at one link it's a quarter of an inch off to the left I'm trying to figure out why.
@Burkley4292 жыл бұрын
So if it's a stretched timing chain and not perfectly on time would that cause the motor to backfire when I throttle it up?

So my 05 raptor 350 has an f not a t after it compresses is that not too dead center?
@themiddleman7322 Жыл бұрын
It's usually a firing mark there should be a T and a F T for timing and honestly I have no clue how to set the firing mark
@themiddleman73222 жыл бұрын
so would I set my valves before or after doing the timing?

So when you put the cam shaft back on there’s no specific way to put it? I see the cam gear does but how about the shaft
@michaeltaylor2773 жыл бұрын
Nope just goes right it you might have to turn it to get it in
