I do wish Yamaha would step a little more into the modern realms but man they’re underrated as all hell. Stoked to see everyone finally talking about them, especially the Revstars.
@cpamiseso Жыл бұрын
They finally have a budget for marketing like this, involving KZbin celebrities/musicians/artists. Wise move, I think. They even asked to review it neutrally, what pros and what cons for that kind-of player (metal heads, gear reviewer, hobbyist). Very Kaizen.
@Guitarbeast37 Жыл бұрын
Maybe it's not Yamaha's brand philosophy imo They might feel okay about people who really value their instruments instead of selling them in large numbers to some sofa shredders or else. If it was about meeting demands, they would probably catch up with Ibanez or FGN at least. But they probably thought..nah, fuck it, we have it our way

@@MFKR696 might be a good point and if we look broader, other brands' daily grind is cheap guitars too. People buy them all over the map because a lot of them just wanna get into music or play 4 chords in a good company. There always been such a thing as cheap segment and it brings most of the market capital to any large guitar brand. I'll just stick to the point that the whole thing is Yamaha's approach. Maybe they are just lazy, be it. But I kinda like it that they don't appeal to everyone. People buy mid-high range godin, yamaha, or gretch guitars because they want exactly these instruments..or they are just looking for something legit without spending a fortune

I’ve only recently become aware of John Brown and his guitar prowess. But I’m convinced that this man could take a piece of rotted wood and throw some dental floss on it and make it sound like I need to buy it as my next guitar. I’ve played for over 35 years and I would love if I could play like John. Amazing guitarist. What’s even more impressive to me, is that he accomplishes so much on the instrument without any sweeping, flashy solos or most of that style whatsoever. For the record I LOVE that style so for me to be interested in playing that doesn’t focus on that, it says a lot about how creative and talented Mr. Brown is.
@mitchellturnbull3988 Жыл бұрын
That’s is absolutely my favorite thing about this man. He doesn’t need solos, his riffs are groovy enough on Monuments albums that I feel like the entire track is a solo in itself. He’s one of the few writers that can write music so well that a solo would be detrimental to the overall art. I’m including myself in the realm of musicians who haven’t quite figured that out. Then again, I don’t think anything I do is any good lol

The higher-end Pacifica models (1221, 1412 etc) or the earlier RGX series held up against anything else pointy/superstrat at the time, but I felt that as a "metal" guitar were overshadowed by the slew of famous players that the likes of Jackson or Ibanez got on board. The Revstars sound utterly amazing, so I can't help but think that perhaps the design throws people off? Perhaps they want more atypically rock appointments? Jeff Schroeder (Smashing Pumpkins) has a very metal Pacifica which appears to be very similar to a 1221 so perhaps some new models might appear in the future - fingers crossed.
