Niiiice! Cheers! great review. I've just reached 25.500 mi on my WR, ride every day in all weather, engine running like a dream, also do 300 mi journeys and loving it, every 1500 mi oil needs topping up and not having a rear mud guard means you get the shit sprayed out of you, easy to maintain and getting parts, the bike is solid and would recommend it to anyone, esp. if you are tall . i'm 6'5" , 18 stone and have no problems getting it max up to 74 mi, comfortable at 68 mi. I've got a full license and decided to keep it along with bigger bike i'm still waiting for. The only drawback of this WR is the buying price.....ridiculous, but then again it's still eating up the miles! Safe riding :-)

@TwoWheelReview9 жыл бұрын
+Callum Hulbert Hi callum, to remove the the AIS/Breather hose it was just a few allen keys, a small socket set to remove the box holder from then engine casing and then just a yanks at the hose to remove it from the airbox, you can choose to cap off the airbox however i have not done this for over 6000 Miles with 0 problems, it makes the bike aesthetically more pleasing but dosent offer really any performance benefits :)

Hey Harvey, I have a question which is kinda hard to phrase but hopefully you know what I mean; respectively, does the wr125x have better handling off road than the wr125r does on road, or does the wr125r handle better on road than the wr125x does off road? I am also aware that you may have no idea, and tbh they're probably both pretty bad when not used how they were intended but I'm trying to choose between the two, I will be doing more on road riding than off road but I don't want to buy the wr125x if it is incapable of off road riding. (I live in the UK too so off road riding is riding in fields and greenlaning) Thanks in advance and sorry for this trainwreck of a question!
@TwoWheelReview9 жыл бұрын
+xSilentSharpshooterx Hey SilentSharpShooter, The wr125x works much better on road due to its tires and fork setup, that being said the wr125r still performs very well on road not as far an extent as the X model but still is able to corner with a good lean angle, a friend of mine who owns a wr125r was able to keep up with a Yamaha R1 who was about an inch away from knee down mid corner, if this is any example of how good the wr125r is at cornering, however personally i'd feel more comfortable with the x model due to its wider profiled tires lending to overall more traction. As Far as off road riding is concerned ive taken my wr125x down many greenlanes and its great on the straights however the tires arent setup for cornering so any harsh/extreme cornering off road will be very slippery the wr125r on the other hand is far superior again down to its tires which grip a lot better off road, but if you're just having a casual bit of fun off road the wr125x in my opinion offers the best of both sides when it comes to on and off road riding. If your sole use if for the road get the wr125x If your sole use is for off road get the wr125r If your want a very good on road handling and a good bit of fun off road get the wr125x. Hope this helped! :) HarveyTWR

Think i might get this one! I have a Duke 125, but it just got to 18k miles and has now got a electrical fault and doesn't fill me with confidence on the reliability front now lol, would it be a bit of a downgrade (not to be a dick) but I've had 83 out of my duke and its the best 125 (from MCN) is the acceleration good? And is it good for filtering? Are the handlebars higher than most car mirrors or about the same level for filtering as this would be the biggest deal for me as i would use it every day about 25miles commuting. Cheers man! Great review btw
@TwoWheelReview9 жыл бұрын
+The Unique KTM Thanks for the comment man, performance wise im not sure how the wr is geared compared to the ktm however ive had my wr reach around 74-76 on flat and around 80 downhill, the gear ratio is very short on the wr so allows for quick acceleration but a reduced top end which makes it an excellent commuter. The handle bars whilst they're wide filtering is still made easy as they fit through most gaps just above car mirror height, also the wide bars give great agile, precise handling making it a joy to filter around town, yes you may not be able to fit through gaps like a sports bike but you'll still be in comfort the whole way to work and back! :)

Hi mate I'm a new sub and live the vids. This is the fist proper English review I've found on this bike and it's brilliant, I'm 17 in November and just wondering if you know anything about the finance on this bike ? And I know I shouldn't take pillion on a CBT but is it any good with a pillion? I would only be running my sister to school on the way in to work anyway haha, so not far. Thank you mate and ride safe pal :)
@TwoWheelReview9 жыл бұрын
+Jack Jones a friend of mine bought one on finance not sure how much he pays but im sure its a 2 year contract which will last you till your next license entitlement at 19 (A2) i believe the APR% is fairly high around 8% but some dealers off it around 6% which isint too bad considering it comes with 2 years warranty, the servcing is fairly expensive at a dealer so id get the oil and filter changes done yourself but stick to reccomended service intervals. My experience with a pillion has been good in the dry but horrible in the wet as the back end is heavily loaded which causes the front tire has little traction which makes handling not as smooth, also theres not much room for the pillion to seat or balance themselves on when braking, otherwise its good for quick journeys around town with a pillion top speed around 60mph
@jackjones4299 жыл бұрын
+Two Wheel Review thank you for the brilliant reply mate :) I would love this bike but it looks like I will have to go for the sinnis or the lexmoto Apache as I haven't got enough for the wr. I am happy enough with them to as they look similar to the wr. Thanks for the pillion advice. That sounds perfect just for cruising around on with a girl on the back ;) ride safe mate and enjoy the rest of your Spain trip!! :-)
@TwoWheelReview9 жыл бұрын
+Jack Jones Anytime Jack, also id pump up the back tyre an extra few Psi and possibly stiffen the rear shock for better handling with a pillion, The Sinnis is a great bike from what ive heard, whatever bike you get just remember to enjoy the ride :) Will be back from the Spain trip around the 30th this month so videos will be out Harveytwr

+MrKrayzeeKrysis With a decent pair of boots you should be able to 1 foot flat it or 2 foot tip toes, best bet is to go to your local yamaha dealer and try one out, there are lowering kits for the wr125x which will drop it about an inch which would be worth looking into :)
