Hi, I’m from Barcelona, and recently I purchased the Fantic XE 125 2023 to ride enduro with my son, and we/he are/is very happy with it, it runs fantastic, has a lot of power all of the power curve, and it feels very light and easy to handle. I think Fantic has done a fantastic job, “endurising” (sorry for the invented word) a YZ 125. Congrats for your fantastic reports. Best regard from Europe. Albert Duran.

I thought it was the attempt at a street legal 2 stroke some company was talking about trying (I forget the name). Oh, TLDR- You might want to consider getting a KTM plated. It worked for my 300 2 stroke, just like any street bike... I recently bought a '18 KTM 300 XC-W and got it plated in PA- I just walked into the auto tags shop with the paperwork and the vin came back as a KTM Motorcycle (not KTM dirtbike, or OHV, or whatever). And that was after one of the other employees said "Did you say KTM? You gotta be careful with those, they make dirtbikes, so make sure it says M.C. when you run the VIN" to the lady that was helping me. My local dealer swore to me for years that it could be done and customers did it all the time- riding them off the lot directly to tags, but I never believed it, until I tried it personally (why not try?). I can't guarantee I didn't just get lucky, and I'm definitely not an expert on how any of that works, but that's what happened and I can't get over the fact that I have my #1 dream dual sport (Sickass Racing plug & play harness and lighting kit!) Directly after that I did some research online and got a '04 450 EXC to try, and the exact same thing happened (same lady said the same thing about KTM making dirtbikes) but that one also came back MC (as I expected that time). I had been trying different "dual sports" but none of them did it for me- too big, sluggish, and heavy (CRF-450L, XR-650, DR-650). After I sold my DRZ-400 I realized I needed a real dirtbike with a plate, but I wasn't willing to go through loopholes or Dirtlegal w/ Montana tags, which led me to KTM/ Gas Gas/ Husky. I wanted one of the 300cc+ KTM 2T's since I was 14 and it didn't disappoint when I finally got one. I got the 450 in great shape with low miles/ hours (Starts with one kick after sitting for a week!) for literally half of what I paid & sold a '04 DRZ for (half the miles too) and it's an objectively better performer in EVERY aspect, so even if it blows up tomorrow I might say I already got my $$$ out of it. That's my long winded way of trying to say "Try a KTM" and saving someone the headache I went through looking for a legal dirt bike. The older 450s can be found dirt cheap and seem to be extremely reliable if well maintained (ez valve adjustments!), and the 300 2 strokes aren't cheap, but they're as good as it gets, I'd say perfection! Good luck🤟

Growing up my brother and a couple other guys within our area all had Fantic trial bikes! It was a foresty mountain area, and everybody was constantly trial riding! Own a 22 xx 250 I bought brand new last year, owned many bikes, ktm 250 2's yzf250s 125s etc, the xx250 is by far my favourite. Powerband in Map 1 compared to an old RM or YZ250 is much smoother, hits hard but controllable, very similar feeling to the KTM 250's (comparing it to a 19 I get to ride regularly). Suspension, KYB you can't go wrong, always been a fan of it and only had to make minor adjustments from stock settings after setting sag. Arrows pipe sounds awesome and is surprisingly quiet, bike also doesn't vibrate much considering there's no counter balance, comparing to a 19 250sx vibration isn't much more and you don't notice it, unlike the old 250 ktm smokers, I had an '11 at the time for a few years and that thing made my hands go numb after 3 laps. Main thing I noticed coming back to a 2 stroke from the 4 was how light it felt (obivous I know!) but in the corners it's really confidence inspiring compared to the YZF's, it just gets in a rut and wants to stay there. Only issue I had was a little bit of setup, some front washing that was fixed with 1 or 2 clicks of compression and some light bucking into the corners, but nothing a bit of setup didn't fix. In my case going a little stiffer on comp and a little high speed change.

The powerband is a pure adrenaline rush. Even if it’s slower than a 4stroke it feels faster. I’m a big guy and riding a yz 125 still makes me feel like a kid again. I think just by nature of the engine and the way they run, it changes the whole experience. I love a 125 because you can push it to its absolute limit and you have to work the engine to go fast. I was at to buy the European fuel injected Husqvarna 300 and then I began hearing some horror stories. I passed on it. Since I have Houston, I was set for shipping to Houston for $300 and the bright side is that you're not paying any taxes! So, you're only paying shipping. Just over one week was my time frame from the UK. I had it nailed down in one a couple of hours and that was being lazy about it too! My entire reason for it was a loophole to cross streets bring that the bike is street legal over there and street legal in Texas is just as simple when you import a foreign bike.

How in the world they stopped true racing motocross bikes will never make sense to me. They would sell far more 2 strokes than any other bikes and they would build future riders and sells by getting kids hearing them at a young age. The 4 strokes sound like lawnmowers are actually are lawnmower engines so this won’t be anything new to a child. Also they need promotions to get people out to the local tracks as well as the pro races. Problem is no one wants to ride on land anymore and that’s where the general public would see the bikes in the 70’,80’s and 90’s.This sport has so much that needs to be changed and not hard to do. The people that make money are manufacturers, tracks and promoters. The people behind this really don’t know how to run this business

Checkout BRC in Canada. You can convert the last two models of KTM/Hus/Gas to a 500. Then they made one for the YZ 250. The concept is incredible. All these people talking about how great 125s are - pffft. In hindsight, I should have gone straight from 80s to 250s. That way I would have been a bit earlier into the 500s. That was the most racing fun I had.

If I was going to buy or import an Italian MX bike, it would be a TM Racing bike.

I'm from Italy (where the fantic is made) and the fantic 125 is a yz 125 with different hulls

Ive seen a few in the bush up here in BC Canada. Havent looked into them too much but I believe you may be able to get them up here and then bring them down across the line to the states.

I’m from the UK where there’s loads of these about. I agree with you, they aren’t as good as the YZ to ride, The fantic looks nice though

Lurching forward on shifting on power is probably clutch or clutch oil difference. Id love to see a dyno comparison.......

If they let the fantic 300 enduro bike into North America it’d be the best selling bike on the market it’s yz300 with electric start essentially

I wonder why they don't still use rotary valves in those? You could change them for different tracks.

I read something on Fantic making a yz300 enduro e-start bike. Which was cool, until they removed the kickstarter to do it. Back to Beta for me.

So…I didn’t quite follow, where can I buy one of these in the US?😊
@MXvsATV1447 ай бұрын
Saw these at the Motocross of Nations at RedBud… yes if you buy one outside of the country you can bring them in to ride… just don’t start selling them from factory level

Those old Fantic models look a lot like 1970s Penton/KTM bikes.
