Bought one of these last Christmas on the recommendation of Hi Fi Choice magazine here in the UK. I've added to my ancient NAD 3020e amp and I have to say that I'm delighted with it. As I'm new to streaming this was an inexpensive entry point and I'm in no hurry to upgrade! I bought it on Amazon and added a pair of their Basics phono cables which seem like really good quality compared to the rather cheap-looking ones that Yamaha supply.

Great sound quality but Yamaha have decided to leave it out from Amazon HD, so I'm forced to Bluetooth to it, with no Apt-x support which somewhat hobbles the capabilities of the Burr Brown DAC, you're fine for full res streaming if you're Tidal or Quobuz There's support for Spotify and Deezer too, though those don't stream to the devices capabilities.

Hi , in terms of sound quality would this Yamaha be better than the ipod touch?? And also can you use Tidal and control it from an ipad so it would works the same way like spotify connect?

Nice review. I love Yamaha! what if I’m to use my external DAC with the streamer ? Do I still need the WXC50 to get the best sound quality of the house or the WXAD-10 in this particular case is just fine. W.H.R

Hi Nikolaos, The WX-C50 is designed with the quality in mind, and has the digital outputs required for use with a DAC. Maybe consider the NP-S303 though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGmmdGWomtJ8mrs

Not realy. People often need bluetooth only (so would buy the YBA-11). The WX-AD10 adds the Musiccast streaming too.

For bluetooth, the iFi Zen Blue sounds better. But the Yamaha has streaming on board, so leaves your phone free to do other things.

Hi I just came aware of this device from Yamaha I have a question can I connect two bookshelf speakers directly to this device and control the volume through the music cast app or the Bluetooth air play application I want to use this devise as an add on set speakers to play from my stereo without having to run cables all the way from my living room to the bed room

If your stereo in the Living room is Yamaha MusicCast stereo, and if the speakers you mention are active, then yes, it will work well. If your stereo in the Living room is not MusicCast - it will not work.
