Yamaha XJ700 Maxim Timelapse Restoration (Part 3 of 3)

The 3rd and final part of the Yamaha XJ700 Maxim restoration.
Part 1 shows the strip down, clean up and prep ready for paint and polish.
Part 2 will be a further timelapse of clean up, prep & paint including carbs etc.
Part 3 will show final rebuild and completed bike.
Unfortunately, I lost some of the footage at the end of the build showing the carb balance, forward controls set up and engine run. I did have some pics though, so they are at the end of the video.

No worries. The forward controls I chose for this build were from TC Bros in America. They come in a universal length that you’ll need to cut down to suit and then powder coat to your chosen colour. Your existing levers will need modifying to hold the new rods too.

No not at all. Take your time and stay patient. It can be fiddly & takes the smallest turn to get a big change in synching. 🤙🏻
