Great video! I can’t beleive Yamaha could send a product out like this and so many people blew their motors up in no time, all the dealers should address this problem before selling them or Yamaha should in the first place. Glad people like u put these videos out to warn people of the problem eventhough in most cases it’s probably to late. Have u thought about just grinding off parts of the clamp tool so it will fit?

Remember when all blenders had metal gears? Now they all have plastic gears and dont last. No Yamaha should never have used tywraps to hold those lines and it caused most every ski to lose a cylinder. It also made people shy away from 2 stroke jet skis. Simply using better quality tubing and clamps solves the issue. Grinding those pliers is not necessary because the wire cutters do the job just fine.

You are welcome. The 1200 is difficult to get to anything on the engine. I bought a gp1300 and it is fuel injected so I dont know what issues I will have with this one.

So like you said, can you just use pre-mix after changing the lines and skip the priming step?
@ShadetreeJetski3 жыл бұрын
Yes,but you will be getting double oil once the lines are primed on that tank. It will smoke a bit more. You will need to physically look at the lines and make sure air bubbles arent preventing the oil to flow.
@brij30443 жыл бұрын
@@ShadetreeJetski My lines are black so I can't see air bubbles. Will they eventually work their way out just by running the ski w/premix? Also, you mentioned the bleed screw. What does that do exactly?
@ShadetreeJetski3 жыл бұрын
@@brij3044 It bleeds the air out when you open it allowing the lines to prine easier. Personally I would always bleed and prime those lines.
@ShadetreeJetski3 жыл бұрын
@@brij3044 yes the bubbles should eventually get worked out by the oil pressure. Check your plugs for lean and rich carb conditions.

@ShadetreeJetski3 жыл бұрын
This one had tywraps that I cut and pulled off. The metal clamps you see I put on there. You just cut them with wire cutters across the opposite direction of tightening those clamps and they loosen up.

@@999turtleman It is a 2 stroke engine there is no oil filter.
@brij30443 жыл бұрын
Typically on these 2 strokes there is a removable loose filter just under the fill cap on the oil tank itself. The oil gets filtered when you are pouring the oil into the tank. Then you just take out and clean the filter when it needs it.
