Yamaha XMAX 300 initial review (english)

I have read so many positive reviews on the XMAX and really need to test ride one myself. My primary concern would be its high speed interstate cruising ability at high speed. I have a Old SYM RV250 carb model and want to enjoy the increased power and fuel economy of the Yamaha XMAX and better handling. I read every article on the bike and the xmax engine is a marvel of good engineering.

The ear things on the side are to blow debris away from your hands, most likely bugs. 👍. Great scooter I have one myself I haven’t gone over 90km yet. Just really windy lately.

Those little ears you don't like actually serve a purpose. It redirects the wind from your arms to reduce fatigue at highway speeds. They also deflect potentially painful items from striking your hands at highway speeds by directing the wind around your hands. Lots of sport touring bikes have something similar on the fairings.

I was considering Xmax 300 last year, but after I got the news for the Kymco AK550 arriving I was determined to get the 550cc engine, parallel twin.

Good choice, the AK is a great bike. I’d love to have one and it’s priced well. Having owned a Kymco if you are in US, get your parts shipped from Taiwan or you will pay a 400% mark up from a dealer. TBSShop is a good place for parts.

Great video, I just bought Honda pcx to get a feel of righting the scooters and I love my Pcx. What do you thing of Honda Pcx? . My next scooter will be this Yamaha Xmax. Word of advice when you making the video cover your license plate like other youtubers do for privacy concerns.

PCX is one of the best 150cc scooter s you can buy. They are awesome!

Those blinkers should be incorporated into mirrors like the forza 350 -- which would remove the silly mirrors that it currently has. It would be the ultimate scooter with better mirrors and removing the ears -- yes, you are correct.

8:08 Those "ears" do serve a purpose. They're where u attach the aftermarket rear view mirrors at.

Wondering if those ears are possible Wind screen option. Going to wait on Honda Forza in this country because of the Power Ajustable Wind Screen. Living in the Desert the Wind can really blow!

Marko Tomic odličan, vrlo lagan za vožnju, sedište je malo visoko, ja sam visok 182cm i pri stajanju moram na prstima da se održavam. Sedište je udobno, možda jedno od najudobniji, skuter je vrlo je ergonomičan. Izgleda lepo i kvalitet je jako dobar. Pri malo bržoj brzini pruža super zaštitu od vetra. Max brzina je oko 140 kmh možda malo više a troši oko 2.8l/100km. Koči super, ima abs i još nekakvo elektronsko stabiliziranje pa ga je i po kiši lako voziti. Mislim da je uz Hondu Forzu jedan od najboljih u kategoriji 125, 300 i 400. Vrlo je jednostavan za održavanje, ulje u motoru i menjacu je vrlo lako zameniti a i kaiš nije nikakav problem ako imaš alat. Po meni jedan od boljih skutera. ključ je digitalni, ima puno mesta ispod sedišta, i delova ima svuda. motor mu je vrh, ni ne čuje se a i transmisija takođe, ne osecaju se promene brzine.

Nemanja nisam ocekivao ovako opsiran odgovor, hvala ti puno sto si odvojio vreme! Razmislicu, vidim da je izgleda teze naci kombinaciju boja kao tvoj (belo-crni). Ovo bi mi bio prvi motor pa se uzdam da je dovolnjo lak za pocetnika u tome. Ako te nekad navede put, ja sam u North Chicago-Edgewater, pa se provozaj, popijemo kafu a taman i ja da ga ocenim :)

E ne pričaj! Vrh! Ja živim u Loves Park-u to ti je sat i petnest minuta od Čikaga. Tu studiram i radim. Dobar je motor, mislim skuter, nema menjanja brzina, nije ga teško voziti a 300 kubika je dovoljno čak i za auto put. Ja sam ovaj našao u Kanzas City-ju i čak od tamo ga preko Iowe dovezo kući. Ovde u Mid-Westu ljudi kupe skuter iz zajebancije i uopšte ga ni ne voze i kad kupujes polovan bukvalno kao nov da si uzeo. Ovaj je imao 1000 i nešto milja... imaš i drugih koji su ok, npr: Yamaha SMax, Kymco Downtown, Honda PCX... imam ja Kymca i video sam uradio pa pogledaj, on je duplo jeftiniji a podjednako dobar. A u Americi položiti za motor je podjednako lako kap za auto. A ako ne znaš da voziš ili se bojiš svaki Community College ima besplatne časove, mada, toliko je lako da ako znaš voziti bicikl znaćeš i skuter.

The ears you mentioned, actually provide some wind and rain protection to your hands when riding.

Yes, that is what I read somewhere. That is a nice feature but I think the bike would look cleaner without it, that said, it is still great looking scooter, I am glad you like yours

Hey! Thanks! I had some health issues, had surgery on my head but all is good! I’ll do much more in the next months! I gave the DT to a friend who then crashed it on his second day 😟

@@nemanjatosovic Ah glad yo hear you're doing alright but so sad to hear about them crashing the bike. It's become very hard to find. I went with the People GTi 300 instead because I'm a much taller rider and based off your video the downtown would be cramped for me. If you were closer to me, NY, I would let you review my People for youtube since there are few english reviews of it on KZbin.

@@optimusprime6436 to be honest, o prefer the people over the downtown. The downtown is great but with the people you get the step thru same engine abs in my opinion better looks. The people is amazing. I actually have some spare parts from the DT, like maintenance stuff I can get your way so you can use them in the people. I’ll just have to see what I got.

Or, you can just look it up ill reach out to them to see if they have it but they have everything so I'm not worried.

What Oil did you use for the Gear Transmission? And also, the Motor Oil BRAND and Weight of the Oil please!!

Royal Purple motor oil as I couldn’t find gear oil in the US and the manual said motor oil is just fine. Has worked great. There’s a video on my channel where I change the gear oil, you can watch it I also show the oil and the manual in the video

It’s 10w-30 motor oil for 4t motorcycles. Yamahas can run motor oil instead of gear oil as specified in the manual

You must to drive with gloves for your safety ! Great choice for scooter yamaha 300 is the best buy on the market in 2021 maybe they present restyling model xmax whit full led tacho and with some other small changes in look

that model , looks like the same model YAMAHA brought here in the philippines, except on the signal lights do u have a face book page sir so i cam send the pix of my xmax to u u can see the difference the signal lights on the model or in here is already not extended like that with u, which keeps look the bike more sporty the problem on that signal lights on urs especialy those at the rear, it can be easily be broke if the person riding at tha back is not careful enough when hes going down, it can be easly damage when those will be unintentionaly when hit by hips or children passing by at ur side, hehehehe
