@@davidnowhere2637 I bought a 1500 Nomad. It’s gorgeous, sounds amazing and once you’re rolling is perfectly manageable. However it is a bit too bulky for the area I live in and the majority of the riding I do. Sadly I’ll be moving it on, but I scratched the itch and enjoyed doing so 🙂👍🏼

I have a 2007 Strat S and love it - tons of power and very comphy even 2 up which I took up into the mountains of WWa and Kentucky - She preformed flawless - Dont need to spend 40K plus on a Harley or Indian as they are just gettig to the torque and HP has as stock from back in 2006 when this line cam out. Worth taking a look at for sure for pennies over dollars. I got my 3 years ago loaded with upgraded seat and windshield for $ 5000 and only 12 miles on it in excllent shape - Just in from a nice Sunday 3 hour cruise !!! Tim from Ohio

A 2010 stratoliner is for sale around me on Facebook marketplace. It’s been for sale for a year. It’s gorgeous black. I was considering the Kawasaki Vulcan voyager. I took one for a ride, and. The seating position was just right, it was easy to ride, it was low on power I thought for a 1700 cc, and it shook like a paint shaker. They claim 71 hp. It felt more like 50 hp to me. The bike was a 2010 here it is in 2024, and it’s belt drive. The belt is endless so it it’s not a simple task to replace the belt. The kicker is, a belt is over $500 for the Kawasaki Vulcan. A belt for a Harley is only $125. I’m not a Harley fan -I am riding my third Yamaha royal star venture right now. I have it on my KZbin channel along with my other machines I currently have. I had a Honda GL 1800 Goldwing. no such thing as a little job on that. Example, five hours labor to change the air cleaner at the dealer. I did the job myself, having been a motorcycle mechanic in the past at three different shops, and five hours is right for changing the air cleaner on a Goldwing. The Goldwing was perfect, but I sold it because of how difficult it is to work on anything like the starter, the water pump, the slave cylinder, the clutch, that’s the only reason I sold it., concern about how massive the job would be to work on it.. i’m actually on my third venture. I had a 1986 for 16 years, 138,000 miles trouble free. I went to a royal star venture, I had that for 48,000 miles. Not nearly as fast as the 1986 ventures, not even close, but you don’t buy a big sled like this to go fast. I tried a BMW K 1200 LT complete with heated seats and six cd changer. I don’t have time to go into everything that was screwed up on that bike, it had a nice motor, a nice ride, but it was too flawed, I think they rushed it to market, and isn’t it a wonder why they don’t even make that model anymore.. so I have a royal star venture now, and I was considering the Kawasaki vaquero or the Vulcan voyager, and I spotted this very clean, low mileage Yamaha that’s been for sale for a year. And I’m on KZbin finding out why nobody buys them.Where does this have the same motor that the road star warrior uses? Is it related to the new V twin Venture motor which is utterly reliable, so far except for the heat coming off of the exhaust pipe .. I can deal with weight, but I will not put up with heat. The more I shop around, the better, my Yamaha royal star venture looks every year. They are utterly reliable and easy to work on. I have a video on my channel pointing out my views on comparing my royal star venture to my GL 1800 Goldwing. That video has over 64,000 views, And I am amazed at how more than 99% of the remarks I get from people are favorable and agree with my review, which basically says, the gold wings are perfect, but they are so complicated, I don’t want to work on them anymore. And if you take it to a shop, you’re paying $135 an hour to have somebody else take off all that plastic to get at things which takes extra hours at $135 an hour.

Ive had a Roadliner for two years. Ive blacked it out as the tank trim dazzles too much. In a city they run hot and first gear is low and you need second to keep up with traffic. At idle it does 60 kmh, so you glide through a town like a truck with no roof . It will cruise at 130 to 140 but needs a screen and backrest....maybe overdrive for open road touring. Especially as I live in the country where the nearest city is 140 KMS away. Ive done 3 long trips this year, i got 19 kns/;litre or about 50 mpg. Its smooth and effortless if you are not in a hurry. Its not as well finished as the xv 1600 Yamaha which ive owned. Its light for the engine capacity with confidence inspiring balance. It has enough performance for me comparing it to my zx14r kawasaki, and if not pushed handles well until you wear out the back tyre when it starts to slide under power.

The best aspect of Harleys are all the after market stuff. Ive struggled to get original visor mounts for my Roadliner, so I can get a quality batwing fairing, to do the longer miles at quicker speeds, as chugging along at 80 kmh makes for a long day. Ive made custom brackets for passenger footboards....custom backrest bracket with a recycled back rest off a scooter....pull back brackets from aluminium. The bars are wide and this reduces choice, bit they are availible. Messed around with upgrading lights to l.e.d. as where I ride we have kangaroos and dark winding roads. The triangular headlight makes the bike expensive to swap out the lamp assembly. $A500 as against $200 for innumerable round led assemblies. Still its a very capable big vtwin.

My thoughts based on a very quick look through comments and your specs, Speedo is in the wrong place should be in vision withoit looking down so much, Shaft drive would be better than belt, 1.9l engine only producing 90hp and top speed 120mph seems a bit lacking but i guess its enough for a cruiser, These days mpg matters so please tell us what that is. Price sounds good but what is it in the uk i wonder?

Milage does vary much depending on the rider but I don't know the exact stats for that sorry. Most bikes are around 0.5 liters per 10 km though. Price, I don't know. @Darkvisor
@Darkvisor Жыл бұрын
Hey. This is a Yamaha. It’s one of the most reliable brands of motorcycles. Age would not be a problem. Just check over the bike and look for the quality of the bike you want to buy. If possible, before you buy it, take it to a motorcycle workshop and have them look over it and they might see if your bike have any problems that’s not normal to normal wear and tear. Good luck and thanks for watching

These bikes will run forever. If you maintain it well you will have no problems. As said its a Yamaha. The type of engine (low power and high torque and big displacement) will ride 120 to 140 kmph all day long and the only time you need to stop is to refuel on petrol. I had a Honda vtx 1800 and never had problems with it. Do not ride it in the winter with all those salty roads, it will ruin your chrome parts for sure.
