I think that a worthwhile upgrade might be the DS Audio E1 Optical cartridge and associated PSU that powers the DS Audio E1.

Nah mate . It needs a Japanese wooden bodied cartridge hand crafted by Japanese Sōhei Monks living in caves, deep in the Shikoku Mountains.

I thought that it was a Microprocessor Controlled Turntable but could the processor be on the bottom of the motor drive board.

Hi Would you be interested in looking at my JVC QL-Y55F ? The servo arm side of the table has gone dead no power at the control switches ?

Your comment begs the question, what are some of your favorite cartridges? Thanks

Shure V15 iv, AudioTechnica AT440. I like a bright sounding cart.

To me, the GRADOS have a too loud midrange. Yes, I had the 'hum' problem with them.
@PoppinWheeliez8 ай бұрын
Humm problem is often cured by cleaning the cartridge body and stylus contacts. There are 4 on the stylus and 4 inside the body. Qtip and alcohol removes it.
@bikdav8 ай бұрын
@@PoppinWheeliez That never did it in my case. It was the cartridge itself.

TT Guy, you should make more videos of the ones which are more difficult to work on or exhibit unusual problems - but then you've got to remember to edit out the cussing 😄

Sometimes you just need to get through the pile and can't be slowed down by the video process.

I'm not understanding the tracking weight. You balance the arm level (horizontal) but then you move the weight back to zero (adding weight) and then again add 1.5? gr. With my Dual CS-515, I turn the counterweight to be level, then don't touch it, then add the 1.5gr with a separate dial (and then anti-skating on a 3rd dial)
@TurntableGuy8 ай бұрын
You don't move the weight, just the dial to zero, then turn the weight with the dial to the correct setting

@TurntableGuy I generally said good job and I also find Grado carts boring.
