Hi If I want to play classic saxophone, which saxophone do you suggest? YSS-875 or Yanagisawa S-991?
@dawkesmusic8 жыл бұрын
Hi, both would really be fine for Classical. It depends more on the mouthpiece and of course your playing style etc. We have customers using both for Classical repertoire without a problem. My personal preference would be for the Yamaha but it's very subjective and both are excellent.

Anyone could answer me, does the yanagisawa metal mouthpiece go well with yss 475?
@dawkesmusic7 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes! That would be a great combination. The 475 Soprano is a very nice all round Soprano for the price and the Yanagisawa will make it sing.

dawkesmusic thanks for your answer, should I buy yanagisawa size 6 or 7?

It's very difficult to say remotely without knowing much more about your playing, your experience etc. Commonly on Soprano people play slightly smaller tip openings so they can keep a good control and play a reasonably strength reed to make the tone as full as possible with support. So, if you're just getting into using a metal mouthpiece and exploring it I would suggest the #6 is a safer first option.
