Good job and grate info I got mine in the shop getting done with the heavier clutch. Only had 6 hours on it when it Went. And how it went was my brother was driving. He got it stuck pretty bad and he’d back up a bit and drive if forwards on the wheels got pretty good traction and almost stopped turning. He did that a few times” and noticed that the clutch slipped and a bit and Said OK stop we’ll winch it out now I just seen the clutch slipping a bit. I’d say the damage was already done. And then again it might of been okay. So we hooked up the winch to a tree. And the bro asked if should help once we start winching and told no just let the win do the work. Because I new it was still pretty hot And wouldn’t take much to make it slip. Again” but o no it went right over his head” and he Gunder and it really slipped badly that time”. So needless to say all hope for the clutch was out the window. And we limped bad to the trailer and into the shop and still waiting on it to get done. That should of never happened is all’s can say

Nice! I adjusted for TK for years. Now run a lowly out route for Schindler. Good little gravy train with no stress. Local 21, 15 years to go.

Just installed mine and went for a weekend ride. Clutch bite is SOLID but i did notice some chatter when trying to pull out on an incline. Other than that it holds through all gears pinned with a turbo
@vf124974394 жыл бұрын
The wire spring clip holds pressure against the jutter springs. It's there to eliminate chatter and noise by maintaining tension against the clutch pack. In my book the stock stuff is junk! I will be upgrading with the same kit you used and I will purchase another spare clutch pack to keep on hand. Aftermarket companies are not reliable like the original manufacturer. If Barnett went belly up at least I will have another clutch pack.🤣 Thanks for posting the video, I just bought a used 2016 and the clutch may have been slipping the first trip??? By the 3rd trip I definitely could tell, maybe I finished it off being a new driver? Doesnt matter since I hate diaphragm spring clutches! My harleys all got upgraded.

My clutch is right on the floor,push really hard to disengage but grabs immediately, I bought the buggy used so I’m thinking it’s time for a new clutch?

did the trans leak without the gasket and just the gasket sealer? where do you drive your yxz? you put alot of miles on it. I took mine out to an off road park in Illinois and blew my clutch within the first hour. the mud was over a foot deep and the hills were really steep, I kick myself in the ass for doing it but I'm kind of glad it happened because now I am able to replace the clutch with a better system, well I hope it's a better system anyway.
@marcoradat8 жыл бұрын
+phunkyhalloween No leaks. I use the Y for dunes, I have other rigs for other kinds of riding. I did the clutch discs because I was already in the transmission but I'm not sure if they were necessary, the pressure plate however was a huge upgrade in my opinion. Check out YXZTalk.com, lots of good info and people on that forum.

Love the video gear6. So i am doing my clutch this weekend that i got from nate on my Mott Motorsports turbo kit and was wondering how well yours lasted since you took "all the old chit out, and put all the new chit in". I was just wondering if you had to do it all again would you do the same or install it back as barrett says to do it. Thanks for the info..

randy schroeder I have over 3000 miles on the Barrett plates. I put the judders back in and prefer it that way.
@Simracing256 жыл бұрын
6gearz thanks for the fast reply. Nate is sending a extra 2 thin fiber plates and told me to use atleast one, not sure where ill use it but i am sure its not rocket science. Cant wait to run the new clutch with the new Mott turbo because it is slipping so bad with the stock clutch and believe it or not the stock clutch isnt gone yet just to much hp

I assume if the clutch pedal had been adjusted as the old clutch wore that it would need to be backed of after new clutch is installed

@SS Man, I bought a 2016 manual YXZ used, I do not know if a different clutch has been put in my machine, and have not taken it apart yet. I would like to adjust the clutch pedal though, my clutch engages at the last inch of travel, and I have read that it should engage in the middle of travel. I would like to try a pedal adjustment before trying to replace the clutch fibers and discs. Do you have any info on how to adjust the clutch pedal? Thank you.

Hey man, I just bought a yxz with the alba clutch in it. It sucks to try and take off with. I assume the judder springs are missing. Do you happen to know what they are called? I cant find replacements!
@bobbygranger6763 жыл бұрын
Yeah I didn't put the judder springs and its all or nothing reverse you can feel it start to grab at least

I've got a question for you I'm going to replace mine with that system this week was there any significant changes with the way the clutch works from the stock clutch especially since you did not put those thrust washers or that wire that held those first few clutch plates on?
@marcoradat8 жыл бұрын
+phunkyhalloween I ran it for a few hundred miles without the judders (thrust washers as you call them). I didn't like it so I put them back in along with the wire retainer. That's they way it has run for the last 600 miles and i like it better.

This upgrade is good but if you remove those last three narrow discs the clutch would get stronger especially in the plucked out as in its lifetime being able to even abuse the clutch in more locked places locked tracks gets the hint do not know how to insist on those three thin discs hug

F*** those crappy jutter/judder? springs...I just put in 3 more wide frictions. Those narrow frictions have half the surface contact area as the wide ones.
