Nice mod brother ! Being a engineer is powerful my friend. I'm a retired master mechanic of 30 yes. NOT having to ask another man to fix your stuff is priceless to a man's soul. Keep it going ! Good video

Thank you! I have always modified everything I buy. I can never leave anything alone. Building and working on your own stuff gives you a lot more respect for them.

I have the same exact problem. Thanks for sharing the idea👍

I didn’t realize for the longest time that it was the pads that made me sit funny and hurt after a ride. It’s so much better with the new pads.

Great idea! Nicer than the ones that come with replacement seats! Hey, speaking of doors, I had my second repair to my 2020; the bolts in the top hinge of the driver door were loose. It took about 1/2 hr. much of that time was spent looking for my T30... So, maint. interval on that, 2,400 mi. Keep on pluggin, you're doing good!
@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Wow I’ve never heard of that happening. Can’t complain about the cost of that repair. I have over 2,500 mile on mine and my door bolts haven’t come loose yet. I must not be diving hard enough.

I was finally able to post a video of my yxz, it's ok, you can hear some good engine sound over the wind. I'm still running the stock muffler.

maybe you could make a little frame to take up that open space where you see the dusty inside of the plastic and fill it with like screen door mesh and paint it black or blue?? just a thought
@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Жыл бұрын
I haven’t been worried about it because I eventually want to get some aftermarket seats. Hopefully those seats will cover that up. If not it would be cool to make some sort of cover for that area.

Did you cut off the back side of that rubber stopped? Sticks out enough to keep the mounting plate flat.
@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Nope. I didn’t cut the rubber stopper. Just cut the shoulder pad off the seats and drilled two holes in the factory latch bracket.

I think they are all similar in size and bolt pattern. This is the type I bought and they are available: www.ebay.com/itm/314413143824?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ujovs3hkt3i&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Yeah cool but pointless now isn't it? My thought was it was where it was so to stop arm or shoulder when tipping over from getting hurt, I might be wrong . Looks cool though
@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Жыл бұрын
I mainly wanted them to protect from catching my arms on the metal latch mount getting in and out and in case of an accident. The factory pads we’re better at keeping your arms in the car in case of an accident and they protect higher on your shoulders but as a bigger dude with wide shoulders the stock pads were really uncomfortable for me and I was sore after riding. Huge improvement in comfort but a little more safety risk. I have been considering door nets but still unsure.

@@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Yeah i figured.. You got some nice viecles there! I just got myself one a couple of weeks ago .. Really nice rides! So I'm looking on KZbin seeing what other ppl are up to and came across your channel and a bunch of other ppl.. Dang I love the rally feel of the Yxz1000r ,responsivness while steering and high raving engine, what a blast.I live in Sweden and I guess since there are way less ppl over here than the us, we don't see these around to much! and they cost a bunch more and parts are more expensive and crashed yxzs never are for sale but we do have some nice dirt roads smiling . anyways I'm having fun and I guess you are as well , thumbs up bro.
