Im really liking this board a lot. i think people have NORD bias if they think the organs are clearly better on that. Combine that with the multi-samples for so many sounds that NORD goes single sample for (glocks, celeste, harp, guitar), the THREE way split function, and some FM synth engine, this thing is IMPRESSIVE!! What I'd personally love to see in an update is the ability to load user-samples. In my case, i want to sample my monosynth, and play it polyphonically, and also to save me from having to bring my synth to gigs all the time.
@Tomica031 Жыл бұрын
Nord biased here, to me yamaha is next best simulation after nord. I like it, but for me nord one seems to have a bit more mid freq and the way you hear air sounds a bit more natural to me. Also have guy in town with real hammond, and only thing he uses when traveling is nord, so he agrees. But yamaha is very close, woudln't be botheredif I had it instead of nord

@johnadams54895 жыл бұрын
Some players complain about Yamaha's prices. But if you compare the new YC61 to a Nord Electro 6d you will see that Yamaha street price at $1999 and the Nord Electro 6d (61 key) at $2199. The Yamaha is less. There are features and benefits of each KB, but the most significant issue for me is Yamaha's impeccable build quality. I have been buying and using Yamaha equipment since the seventies and it ALL still works. Years on the road gigging in all kinds of weather, I NEVER had a breakdown. Never. If the YC61 provides what you need, buy it once and stop looking. Awesome sound, great features.

We need a YC73 or 76 keys version. How is this different from CP73/88? (other than the number of keys and drawbars?). And please, include sounds from the legendary Yamaha synths, like CS 80, SK 30, etc. Thanks!
@gautrstafr5 жыл бұрын
Seems like the main difference is that this one has a true organ drawbar section (THE weak point in the CP88 is the organ section), plus you can have 2 other sections for which you can select the type of sound. In the CP, besides having one of the best keybeds available, it lacks organ section (all organs are in the sub section) and has one piano section, ep section and sub (samples, synths) section. So the main difference is that each has 3 sections, but the Piano/EP/SUB of the CP all compromise one section with two layers in the YC.

Yamaha: When are you going to send some more love and attention to your Reface series? You have a very unique product line in them, and I feel you've sort of orphaned them. I heard about them rather late, and I have come to feel that they were not properly promoted. You finally gave keyboardists a quality, packable, take-anywhere line of instruments. I feel they should be dusted off, be given a fresh review by Yamaha and updated while incorporating feedback. I have various ideas (tweaks) I'd love to share, and I'm sure others do, too. Also, do you know you have a highly accomplished and incredibly talented user here on KZbin who regularly uses the Reface CP for location composing and incorporates in some of her videos? Her name is Nahre Sol.

@@mr.dervish4655 There's a concert here on youtube of Stereolab on their most recent tour, where they use the Reface YC for their organ tones! Yes, instead of lugging a temperamental Farfisa around (for the record, which I've owned and loved) and then, of course, needing a competent technician for any last-minute issues. You don't even need to play from the mini keys if you MIDI up, but the keys would be fine for any basic lines or chord rhythms in concert.
