My experience w it parrallelled yours John. I was living in BC, and bass tackle was hard to come by. I bought some stickworms bc they reminded me of a Slug-go. My gf was shellacking the smallies on a spilt-shot rig w a small black grub. I fished and fished a black stickworm, twitching it like a slug. Nada. I had to stop manipulating it at one point to fix a small tangle on my reel, and when I tightened up, I had the biggest fish of the day on. Bing... lightbulb went on, and I started letting it drop. We caught more than 150 smallies between us that day, and although she had a big head start, we finished up about even. Those first few years, the stickworm was better than dynamite.

KISS-Keep It Simple, Stupid. Probably caught the most bass of any lure ever. I just think they should be cheaper! Probably costs pennies to make 'em.
