I reside in Cape Town South Africa. Yanashita squid jigs are the only jigs I use. Nothing else compares. They are incredibly effective.

By far the best squid jigging video I have seen on you tube. You got a new sub for sure. Thanks. I am going to be in southern Spain in March and already have my jigging gear ready to go.

I’ve watched hundreds of fishing videos and this is the first one to finally explain the difference between monofilament and braided line and why a leader is necessary
@philOKC16 күн бұрын
Actually he recommended fluorocarbon leader. Tougher and less stretching than monofilament.

This is very good video for the new comer in squid eging. I was amazed by the host/presenter on his politeness and how good he is on the subject. No chance to disliking to be honest.

Thank you for introdusing Yamashita.We are familiar with this kind of squid hunting in Croatian Adriatic sea.Main problem is many trown objects found underwater.People that live on the coast have some kind of culture but problematic is curents and sometimes foreign vessels in our ports.Today more actions are raised by local divers to clean botom of sea and things are geting beter,I hope.Good luck to all of you in Japan

Hey Taku we are fans we admire your work my name is GGG a 3rd generation Japanese American. Mr Yamashita eging and new to me. Time Stamp 2:19 on this video could you do me favor and ask in Japanese can I buy the wire snap used. As my eyes are not so good and I think this wire snap. Is good. Ask him if he can either sell some to me or where its possible to purchase. Think this aid my problems. Just change your hook to lures especially Yamashita (eging) sqiud lures. lots of colors to change in a snap. Thank you for asking if you see this comment.

Goog video sir. I just wanted to ask. If you will use 2.5 to 3.o or 3.5 to 4.o size of the Egi. What would be the right line size, reel and rod. Thanks
@いしもち鑑定士5 жыл бұрын
Monte Cristo you shold use 2000-2500 reel(Shimano or Daiwa) and rod for eging. 3.o and 3.5o egi are very useful.

Thank you for this excellent tutorial!!! I feel I can go out and catch some squid now haha! Question: what rod action is suitable for eging? Med-Fast tip?
@boatbeard77674 жыл бұрын
Most Egi rod designs are quite flexible with a pronounced C curve to absorb the pulsing pull of a squid and avoid pulling the jig due to sudden resistance - such as what you get with many rods designed to lever fish out of structure or away from snags. The Egi rod tends to be very thin for minimal wind resistance and clearly marked with the optimal jig size and weight for that particular rod blank. The action is normally fast but soft to medium in feel. High end stuff is quite specific and very much superior to some old dunger whiting rod picked up at a yard sale somewhere...
