@photojpn So, this is an Awa Odori festival that happens in Kanagawa? I knew that there were groups from outside Tokushima who perform this style, but I didn't know that there were any Awa Odori festivals besides the big one in Tokushima. I lived there for a few years. Fantastic party!

Holy crap! i was in this show. when i was in japan in 2003, the JMSDF asked me and a few other Americans to join their awa odori dance group. this was probably the best time i ever had in japan. the group was called Chidori Den (drunken dancing) the crowds LOVED us. i think i still remember the dances

I miss this. :'( I saw it for the first time at Yamato station in Kanagawa Prefecture. There's something mesmerizing about Awa Odori.

It's the Bubble Dance! There were some demonstrators performing this outside of Kyoto Station that let us try to dance with them, so fun!
