@@lieutenant6894 Indian Air Force issued the requirement of a 6th generation fighter jet during Aero-India 2020. At that time, government of India and Indian Air Force asked DRDO, HAL and ADA to develop a 6th generation fighter jet. According to few news reports and assumptions, AMCA MK3 will be developed as a 6th generation fighter jet till 2040. As AMCA MK2 which will take its first flight till 2030 and will start its production in 2034, it will have most of the 6th generation fighter jet features and next generation warfare capabilities like Directed Energy Weapons, Swarm Drones, Pseudo Satellites, Hypersonic Missiles and UCAVs and all these Next Generation Warfare Capabilities are already being developed by DRDO for the AMCA MK2. That's why AMCA MK2 will be a 5.5th generation fighter jet. This will make DRDO and ADA very easy to shift from a 5.5 generation fighter jet to a 6th generation fighter jet as they will have already developed a lot of technologies which will be required for a 6th generation fighter jet program. Even if they face any delays, problems or difficulties in making a 6th generation fighter jet, they can simply join Britain's 6th generation fighter jet program TEMPEST or French 6th generation fighter jet program FCAS as both the countries have officially invited India to join their respective 6th generation fighter jet programs. Also due to the reason India will not be very late to develop a 6th generation fighter jets as 6th generation fighter jets will start their production in 2035 to 2040. And most important thing is that, AMCA MK2 having most of the 6th generation warfare capabilities and features will be able to give a tough competition to other 6th generation fighter jets as well.
