Yami gives awesome interviews, started noticing that after the round table interview. She doesn't move away from the question asked and also there is no repeated use of a particular word or sentence like " I think.." before every answer. Nope! Nepotism existed then too and there was hardly any talk of improving the craft in mainstream cinema. Kajol, Rani, Twinkle, all of them are nepotism product. Atleast now, with the online platforms, artists are getting more and more opportunities as Yami has rightly pointed out and many previously underappreciated artists are shining now! Improving cinema, acting, cinematography is the talk of the town today. Mainstream cinema in 80s and 90s were primarily crappy. It is only what is referred to as "art cinema" promoted by the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Smith Patel, Shabana Azmi, Neena Gupta, which became the saving grace of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

@@ananyaa6664 hmm true but still think that unlike earlier where nepotism was restricted to second generation male stars sons of Dutt Saab, Kumars and Bachchans now what has happened is that anybody and everybody like daughter of a failed star/ director is getting handled a debut ..We still need a powerful actress superstar like madhuri..kangana looked like that candidate but went berserk somewhere..In males we have nawaz,pankaj,Manon,kk,sanjay and kumud Misha,Rajkumar ..In females we have Richa,Huma,Swara. As you can see the comparison doesn't add up it's like comparing apples and oranges in 90and late 80s we had shabana,deepti, smita,supriya pathak, Neena Gupta ..Even commercial cinema had jaya bhaduri,rekha,sharmila who were good if not great like the former set of actresses ..aaj koun hai actresses mein ..Naseer,om,sadhu meher,pankaj kapoor's void had justly being filled by irrfan,manoj,kk,irrfan but what about the void of actresses..In past 5,6 years how many actresses in Hindi have bagged national award other than ranaut..

Nepotism existed from 60s., maybe earlier. I think it started with the Kapoors. Those days most of the film families didn't allow their women to work in films. By around 90s, that changed and women also joined in. But I think nepotism will give you a platform. Once, maybe twice. But ultimately if you don't click, you are out. Randhir Kapoor, Kumar Gaurav, Rajeev Kapoor, Joy Mukherjee etc are some examples of failed nepotism

Well, miss beauty, all I would like to say regarding the black screen back in time vs the colour screen of now is that back then, the black camera seemed to detect the things right in front the best compared to so much now. So, the expression cum actors were always very close to the camera. As a result, due to the face and expressions being the most detectable event as a visual, the main focus went there. Be it of the director or the actors. Born in 96, I may be wrong, having hardly seen any black and white cinema, but that's what I think
