Yami is a protagonist that has finished his series and is now guiding the next protagonist. kinda like Naruto in boruto (only black clover did it right I think).

My Hero tried doing it but I dont think they did it as well as Black Clover Because Yami and Asta have different goals in life. Asta and Julius do have the same goal tho, ending Discrimation, but Julius hasnt completed it, and he wont be able to do it as well as Asta will. All Might and Deku have the same goal But All Might already did all the work he became the symbol of piece Dekus goal is just to replace him. Obviously he becomes better than All Might but that wasnt his goal. He got the second goal of defeating All for One, but All Might did that already too.

@@GMYSTERYICTNF I think My Hero did a phenomenal job with it, personally. However, I've dropped off from MHA because the manga has gotten too rushed

I do like that we got to see how Yami was as a Magic Knight, and we get more insight to his past. Though it is weird seeing Asta feel down, you would think not making it to the finals and not facing Yuno would motivate him.

Now that I think about it it makes sense William and Yami wouldn't know each other while being in the Gray deer because the Gray deer was the only magic knight squad in the Clover Kingdom until Julius formed the other magic knight squads. I could be wrong though

That doesn't sound right. It seems the Vermillions and Silvas have had their squads for ages. Plus the Purple Orcas were a squad when Julius was only a Captain.

Julius didn't create all the knight squads he created the Star merit system. The squads were around already from what I can tell there was originally 7 until Julius was named the Wizard king and gave William & Yami the title of squad captain of their own squads. The Grey Deer just changed its name to Aqua Deer when it got a captain. I think it's up to a new squad captain if they keep the name or change it. The oldest squads are probably the Silver Eagles and the Crimson Lions who where most likely always lead by Royals from house Silva and house Vermillion.

The series does this (usually), big massive intense fight followed by a couple Ep.s of chill so that you can come down from the hype before they begin to wind you back up again. But does it really matter since we're getting at least two Yami centric Ep.s?
