I'm gonna talk about my little experience here. I'm 26 now but at 8 i had an accident with my uncle in a dirt bike and i lost memory and conciousness. For so many years i always saw motorcycles on the road and thought about how awesome should be able to get one even after what happened when i was a kid. Fast forward to a few months ago, i just decided i wanted one, so i went to the dealership and got a brand new yamaha xsr700. And I can't express how happy i am now, how relaxed i feel, I'm not in a bad mood all the time. It changed the way i see life too. So, for all the guys in the channel waiting to get one, just be patient and get it when you can afford it, be smart about your decisions but don't give up on getting one, i hope it changes your life too as it did with me.

@GianLombardo3 жыл бұрын
@@xav_crack yeah, as a beginner you have to respect the bike, it has a lot of torque, so you have to be gentle with the throttle if you're learning how to ride in that bike, I'll highly suggest if you've never driven a manual car or a motorcycle to go to a msf course, learn the basics first and then go to your xsr and practice before going into the streets. That's what i did, and it's been two years with the motorcycle and i don't regret my purchase or the decision to start riding. If you buy it keep in touch so we can share our mods 😊

Guys. Buy a bike cheap, you can do it in college but it has to be cheap. You can find nice bikes for under 2 grand. My 99 Honda Magna 750 (second bike) was $1,750. Fun, good condition, powerful, and handles very well. You don’t have to get brand new whatsoever. You just have to be smart about it all. I just bought my third bike, an ‘01 R6 with 9,900 miles on it for $4,000. I got my first bike at 19, second at 20, third at 22. You can do it. Just be smart and everyone can get into the saddle!

ALWAYS buy private sale. Butt make sure to take it to trustworthy mechanic for full check! 10 out of 11 times your saving half of whatever your paying on dealer comission Ex: bike cost 5k private, dealer would sell 7.500 -10k. Also, 6/10 new bikes (1st gen) are mainly experimental and will have some issue. - just a mechanics perspective

I love 150 or 200 cc bikes, to be honest. They give impressive mileage. Yamaha r15 gives 45 kmpl. It's like 105 mpg. And they're powerful too, for a beginner. They can go like 120-140 kph, which is enough for daily commute and safe long distance riding. 400, 600 and 1000 ccs have got only power, and nothing else, may give you a lot of speeding tickets and may even take your life. On a racetrack, it's different, but on the streets they're not reliable.

Overall great advice, but I wouldn't necessarily steer people away from loans because anyone getting their first bike could probably use some credit building and that's a great way to start building credit as long as you can keep up on payments. I’m 23 and I been looking forward to buying my first bike and I know I want an R7 but I don’t know if I should buy a used one and idk if I should finance… idk how much I need to start and I also don’t know what’s going to happen once I do buy it… can I drive it out the dealership? What happens if someone hits me on the first day?? I probably won’t have insurance that day would I?

my very first and currently bike is a triumph street twin 2019, very good beginner bike, everyone was like "900cc is too much, too heavy, too much torque for a first bike" and I was like: look my new bike kkkkkkkkk

I never rode a motorcycle but will be taking the MSF course next month. I am 61 years old and do not plan on purchasing multiple motorcycles so I purchased a Indian Scout for my first motorcycle. I am about 5'6" and 165-170lbs, do you think that bike is a good starter bike?

Yammie: Love getting to watch the best bike channel on KZbin! Haha. I am in a unique situation I am 21 years old, living on my own and pretty much fully paying for every aspect of myself (rent, bills, insurance, etc) I got immensely lucky with a sales job making just shy of $60k annually, which is absurd for my age. Although I recognize that even in my position I cannot escape the grasp of insurance rates for guys my age, even with a completely clean record. My pure passion is cars, but seeing as that market is fucked I’m looking into my secondary passion of bikes! I still have a long way to go, haven’t purchased a single bit of gear much less done my riding course, but I’ll get there :) I’m thinking of a budget of around 8k, and just buying outright, to soften the insurance blow as much as possible, but past that… unsure what I want! I live in a tiny mountain town in northern NM, with a significant number of unpaved roads, and the ones that are paved aren’t smooth by any means. I’m not saying i need a duel sport, but it’s worth noting. It also gets quite snowy in the winter months. I’ve looked into mostly naked and cafe style bikes, in the 400-500cc range, but maybe I’m getting ahead of myself with that level of power I had a little 90cc Yamaha dirt bike when I was much younger but that’s the extent of my riding experience. What naked bikes would you recommend? I know you had an Mt-07, and I quite like the look of that one, what do you think? PS: It’s awesome to see you in Austin, I lived there 12 years and loved it so much, I used to work at Barton springs. I used to ride on the back of my dads first year Triumph Thruxton and we would park at that spot at 13:25. Good memories :)

Ya know what, noob? Your pretty pretty smart. I love the way common sense just flows through you. Now please explain the squid thing. 🐙 I'm getting divorced and I did something my wife never let me do. I returned to the riding hobby after 12 years. I'm a proud owner of a 2010 Multistrada. I know... just stop. It was only 7600 and it's like bran new. Anyways... 🐙? What's the deal. That's a new term... Or something... "All of your limbs are engaged." Ahah! Lol

If you want to get a bike, you should think what you need the bike for. If you just need to get around town on your own on the cheap then look for a moped or a microcar(if you live in the EU). If you need a vehicle to get around in the countryside where distanses are long and speeds are high and you are not old enogh to drive a car then you should start looking for a bike to sute your needs. If the roads are in good condition and you have nice wether all the time, then a regular street bike or a cruiser or a naked bike is fine, If you have a bunch of dirt and gravel roads and the wether is unstable then an enduro is probobly better suted for your situation. But if you just want to have fun then get a new or a lightly used model of the bike that you like.

I am going Sunday to buy an '06 V-Rod Harley-Davidson I have not ridden road bikes just dirt bikes The only reason I want the V-Rod is the fat rear tire... It's not practical and there's probably a better first bike but I just don't care

What if you're about to be 46, have some experience on motorcycles but mostly motocross when you were way younger, and now have a desire to get a bike mainly for short commutes, around town, and maybe a short day trip?

Ohhhh the 360 bridge. Looks really cool from underneath too, from a boat on Lake Austin. Great place to waterski in the mornings before anyone's up. Grew up in a lakehouse just south of the bridge, across the lake from Ski-Shores. Dude, youre taking me back!
