I started with an 05 CBR600rr, then got an 06 CBR600rr and an 06 Honda RC51. The aesthetics, sound, incredible handling, and like Yamms mentioned, raw power in the upper rpms far outweighs the negatives. You could make the same arguments for some cars. I picked up a 2024 ZX-6R on Tuesday (I’ve been riding a CBR500R for almost 7 years) its an absolutely phenomenal bike for the street. The new cams give it plenty of grunt for low rpm use around town. As for ergonomics, I’m a 6’2 250lbs powerlifter and honestly my only complaint is the weight on my wrists which can be eased with body positioning. I didn't start riding until I was 40 (mid-life crisis) and my first bike was a Suzuki Bandit 400. A great little bike but you had to rev the nuts off it to get a decent performance and I had difficulty keeping up with the other riders in my group who all rode 600s or 750s so in 2000 I bought a Honda CBR 600. To me it's the perfect compromise. It's fast, relatively light, and I don't find it uncomfortable even in town. My only criticism is that the suspension is a bit stiff if you're riding on anything but smooth tarmac. Me with a sv650 🥲
@RyanMinney3 ай бұрын
So it all makes sense now, correct me if i’m wrong. since the 650 is a street version of a 600….that Would that mean a 400 requiring high rpm’s is a beginner track bike. Meaning the kawi 500 actually a 451 is really a 400 reconfigured for the street? Because going to the gym on 400 means you gotta be hitting the rev limit between stop lights to really get that what it’s built for. So kawi 500 keeps you out of Kyle Zone for non track squids. Yes No?

its only a 1k difference between a new 600 and 750, 100% worth the extra grand

i was going with ninja 400 or the R3 and i know im quite a nervous person overall but will that stop me from buying a 600cc? NO! Will I be scared and take it slow the first couple of weeks? YES! With that said, I can not wait for my R7 even though im beyond scared

19 yo european, bought an r6 as a second bike. really not that damgerous as said if u have good risk managment. riding position after riding exclusivelly naked bikes is much more demanding but not that uncomfortable (173cm and 77kg)

I just watched the nerdy bikes vid where yam goes ham on Vulcan and z owners and ouch .. I have both a Vulcan and z 😆 I need to clear up a Vulcan thing tho… we only go 5 below cause we think we’re doing the speed limit or 5 over- but the Speedo is reading high … thus we never understand the mile long line of tailgaters.. 😛

All depends on what you want. I think the cb1000r is an awesome bike. The new one has 143 horsepower and is a beast (not the “hypernaked” that’s the current rage).

So people always complain about torque on a 600cc 4 cylinder, but my f4i feels like it has gobs of torque compared to my 250cc crfL rally 🤷♂️. I think it’s a pretty weak argument. But that’s just my two cents

What do you think about the new ZX-6R? Does it deserve whole video?
@someoneelse1i1i Жыл бұрын
It seems to be THE 600 right now for the street. No doubt Kawasaki is “stretching their wings” with more new bikes and tech than anyone else right now. From what I hear, as long as it’s what you want, it performs exactly as advertised.
@jakegarrett8109 Жыл бұрын
Looks the same as last years model except it has the display from the ZX-4rr and instead of stainless/chrome exhaust they made it black. That's not really much of a change (especailly since many people change the exhaust anyways). They also LOST 12 HP compared to the 2023 model, so... Yeah, apparently my older 2023 model will still win in a race.

Just got a neglegent 2nd for a 50 in a 35 because my 11 year old son was on my r6 with me. Time to let it go and buy a cruiser. Sport bikes draw too much attention. With a cdl I can't get any more tickets.
@someoneelse1i1i Жыл бұрын
They draw a lot more attention over 100 mph😅
@jakegarrett8109 Жыл бұрын
@@someoneelse1i1i But they don't follow you, and that's the nice thing. I've never had a speeding fine, and even yesterday took a picture of a Sherriff officer standing 10ft from me while I was eating pancakes when 20 minutes earlier I had been exceeding 145 mph true GPS speed, and there is absolutely no way he didn't recognize me (I wear a cartoonish furry mascot looking helmet cover). Only time I've been pulled over in this state, I was on another bike and they falsified a criminal citation while I was off-road (where I was allowed to be) going about walking speed on a duel sport... No thanks, seems like the only time they pull me over and detain me is when I'm doing nothing wrong. When I'm flying past 5 or 6 cops within 1 minute while doing over 2x the speed limit (that was last week even, they just kept popping up like a parade or something), well not a single one even tries, which is good, because it would be laughable if I don't feel like stopping, and to be honest with how they historically treat me in a car or a bike even if I'm not breaking any law and they trash my car (they've even toilet papered the inside of my car one time, and detained me for hours in the freezing cold making me stand outside and freeze), yeah, ha, why would I bother stopping? Like even if I do nothing wrong I'm more likely to get pulled over and get punished for existing and paying their salary, no thanks! They've played that game too often back when I was a goodie two shoes, but I've found they don't want to mess with lunatics, so I'll at least act like a lunatic.

Aint no way. I stopped myself from clicking this video for 18h since it was uploaded cause I felt like it was irresponsible for Yam to post a vid that feels like an enabler for squids, only to falter and watch this video with the “it couldn’t be that bad” mindset

Have you not noticed the trend in making motorcycles slower than the highway patrols fastest cars being hemi, powered, basically hellcat, chargers or challengers even though your bike is still faster than die in the sky it’s not faster than the car that’s chasing you

I’m kinda liking the katana 750 cause it’s got decent power and can be pretty nimble albeit cumbersome at times. Though I’d like to either go for a 600 or a 1000 unsure which would be worse for traffic lol

@@willriseabove6858 I just got a 2002 600cc katana as my first bike and I love it. Im only 140lbs and it has all the power I could ever need for riding around on the street. I like the more upright riding position compared to the gsxr its decently comfortable. It is a little bit heavy its not a small bike but feels really stable on the freeway at higher speeds. I think ill keep the bike for a long time and if I decide I need more power ill just swap a 1200cc bandit engine into it.
