Those shimmering lines are not rips, they are wind lanes. There is not enough surf/swell (at the time) to create any significant/dangerous rips.

Interesting. I must have misunderstood my teachers during vacation swimming at the beach. I always thought that was what they were pointing too when talking about different colourations in the water and was taught you couldn’t always necessarily see them so you had to feel what the water was doing around you as well. I'll make sure I mention this next time I do a video near the water.

Thank you, I appreciate the comment and for you taking time to watch it. I wish I had my camera settings right for when I was in the water. I think it was only set to 1080p haha. Only been doing this for a few months so those kind of things are bound to happen. I just released a Busselton Jetty dive if you're interested.

Most definitely interested! Don't worry man I have only been at it a few months with proper editing myself so although I'm getting better it's all learning 😊

@@perthadventurefamilies One thing now, I need to try upgrading my internet. I filmed the Busselton dive in 4k but it took over 20hr to upload to KZbin and I don’t even think the 4k version finished before the video dropped so it looks like it might only be 2.7k, dramas of trying to do social media right.

Nice video! Would just emphasize the fact it’s best not to walk on the reef for the coral at all and the back is a fair bit more dangerous than it looks there’s been a few deaths.. keep an eye out for the the local Ray Freddy and the odd tiger that cruises through
@intrepidworld2 жыл бұрын
Yes I was just thinking that exact thing about standing on the reef while editing another video. I need to point that out in an upcoming video. I definitely need to stress that it should only be done in an emergency. Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.

Really good video!!! Great information about Yanchep, one question have you ever seen a shark while scuba diving or snorkeling if so what sort 🤩👍😂
@intrepidworld2 жыл бұрын
Oops sorry for the late reply. Yes I have seen 1 shark down there before but it was a 1/2m wobbegong shark so all good. There have been reports of larger sharks in the area so it's always best to remember it's their home and we are just visitors. Not sure if you are a local or not so just as a little extra information for you, in our Perth coastal water there are Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Tiger Sharks and Great Whites along with many other species. If you haven't already see my scuba diving videos off Rottnest please check them out for footage of a small male and large female Grey Nurse Shark. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.

Not yet this year, there is a lot of Herring around though. Not to say they aren't there I've been down to the Lagoon 4 times and best visibility I had was about 4m off the back. I have also seen a fair amount of King George Whiting in the rock pool each time I have been.

Hello! Can we still snorkel in low tide?
@intrepidworld Жыл бұрын
You can but I find if you are exploring the back of the reef it can get a bit murky in low tide. Best time to swim is when easterly are blowing. If the tide is low then try the northern end of the reef but that is outside the flags so just be careful. I'm actually uploading a video today where I went back to the lagoon and fixed up a mistake I made in this video.
