Yea. I saw that town hall with his first power point presentation. As a graphic artist, my impression was they need to spend some on their decks; they are capable of getting super visual impact with super visual decks. The slides could have (and should have), had more visual interest and impact. I hope they get a great graphic artist to step them up next time…… although laypeople would think the presentation was fine but they don't know how those visuals could be ten times better and impactful. Andrew Yang is the right choice for the country. The whole world is at the critical moment. Europe and Japan all have negative interest rates. The US is on the way. Negative interest rate has many adverse impacts on the whole society: 1. People scramble for returns, creating many pockets of assets bubbles and taking unnecessary risks; 2. Pensions and retirement funds are difficult to meet annual withdrawals; 3. It is very hard to revitalize the economy (Japan and EU); Freedom Dividend will put a solid floor underneath and create massive purchasing power to avert the coming crisis. In Yang's plan, no new money is printed. Freedom Dividends are just redistributed money from new VAT, the tax revenue from the new local businesses (stimulated by Freedom Dividend) and savings from other programs. The money is already there. Inflation is only induced by the oversupply of total money. As long as there are competitions, inflation will ease off over time. That's why capitalism is so essential to make Freedom Dividend work wonders.

Yang is superior to Bernie in many ways. I don't see Ranked Choice voting, Democracy Dollars in Bernie's platform. Bernie also relies heavily on funding from a Wealth tax, which failed in many European countries. UBI is much better than a $15 minimum wage by 2025. $15 minimum wage kills small businesses, does nothing for people who volunteer or are caretakers, does nothing for people making more than $15 an hour already and without welfare expansion, would likely disqualify many of those people from receiving government benefits. The Freedom Dividend applies to every American adult, stacks on most programs and benefits small businesses. Not to mention, I don't even think free housing for all is even feasible and a lot of Bernie's plans would never pass congress.

First things first, there are still hundreds of millions of jobs in existence today. I don't see automation coming so fast that we should dismiss a wage increase. Regardless of where we all stand, everybody should agree that wages have been stagnant since the 70s, and need to catch up to the rising costs of living & inflation. Productivity has gone up, yet wages do not reflect that we are working more, for slave wages. Nobody can survive on their income in the way we used to 50 years ago. This needs to be corrected no matter who your candidate is. As far as the wealth tax, you're missing a very important detail, and it's that the *wealth tax doesn't work ALONE.* Bernie understands that the rich know how to game the system & shuffle their wealth around to avoid paying taxes. That's why he also plans to increase the *Capital Gains Tax,* reinstate the *Estate Tax,* install a *Wall Street Speculations Tax* (which 30 other industrialized countries already have), *Offshore Tax* for tax havens, tax for leaving the country and include penalties for layoffs, etc. He plans to go after Citizens United and take money out of politics so that corporations can't buy elections. He also plans to *close all loopholes,* and *block stock buybacks* that falsely hyperinflate their value in the market. He further wants to strengthen anti-trust laws and break up monopolies/mergers. And this is just the stuff off the top of my head. Remember, the progressive *wealth tax of 75%* that we had under FDR (democrat) and *91%* under Eisenhower (republican), gave us a massive boost in *economic growth* and it decreased wealth disparities. And while I love the concept of UBI, Yang himself admits the *VAT won't be enough* to finance the *$3 trillion* he needs annually, and so he relies on a Roosevelt Institute study to show that govt revenue from UBI-stimulated economic growth would bring $800 to $900 billion -- but *Yang's plan isn't deficit-financed.* That same study showed that a (VAT) tax-financed UBI would *only bring in UP to $800 billion* (some studies suggest less, but I wanted to be generous). So he'd be short by 2 trillion. His attempts to use other additional resources to fund it are similarly overestimated and questionable. As for you argument about funding the Freedom Dividend, you miss a few funding sources. First is the VAT, which at 10%, it's projected to generate about 700-800 Billion annually. He also plans to end Fossil Fuel subsidies and use the savings towards the Freedom Dividend, which is another 500 Billion. Many programs stack, but cash assistance programs do not stack. The Freedom Dividend is opt-in, so you choose whether the Freedom Dividend or Welfare programs are better for you. He is also implementing other taxes, such as a financial transaction tax and ending the favorable tax treatment for capital gains.

So many comments about how Yang can't win Iowa as if that is even the point. All Yang needs is to hit 15% and secure some delegates. The biggest obstacle he has had this whole cycle is name recognition partly fueld by terrible media coverage. If he can pull off coming in with enough support to secure delegates that is it. The wave starts and the media treats him more fairly. And then all those people that like him but fear he can't win change their minds. Yang can do this.

When we look at actual media news coverage Yang consistently gets mentioned the least, lied about the most, and completely eliminated from graphics the most. MSNBC alone has called him John Yang, left him off somewhere around a dozen graphics (even when they include people like Klobuchar that are polling less), and most recently blatantly lied about his net worth. When you look at mentions on media news he consistently is mentioned least despite out polling and out fundraising many of the candidates that the media focuses on. For example, Klobuchar's recent rise is due to the media elevating her as their new darling candidate. Her RCP averages are less than Yang. He fundraises significantly more than her. And yet, she is considered more viable than him by the media. All the candidates have been on the View. All the candidates have made some appearances on the news media occasionally. However, when you actually put these appearances up side by side it's obvious how incredibly underrepresented Andrew Yang is.

@@josephinapopess1150 well it doesn't poll great because when you're first introduced to it, it seems like a radical idea. everyone laughs off ubi as the stupidest idea when first introduced to it. there are a lot of questions. probably why it doesn't poll great. but Andrew Yang fully explains everything. what it does, how we fund it, etc. his explanation in his campaign is so good that UBI has become more favorable in polls in the last few months. as yangs explanation reaches more people, it'll continue to go up. it is also passable in Congress. UBI has actually passed twice in the House. it's a deeply American idea; Thomas Paine was for it during the founding of our country. it's also a bipartisan idea supported by both parties, and has been consistently proven to be very beneficial by economists and studies alike. with all of this in mind, the chances of ubi passing Congress are high. while ubi hasn't been implemented on a large scale, it's proven helpful in Alaska and the many many studies conducted on it, including the $22 million study in Finland. as for not having a movement behind it like M4A, I think the #YangGang is a very big movement + when people come to understand UBI, they'll be just as excited. also Bernie's m4a is flawed but that's another topic.

So when we here ideas of getting things without having to earn it, it sounds too good to be true. But Americans have built the economy to be the richest in the world, and the tech companies are now moving into being multi-trillion dollar businesses whilst leaving normal people for dust and paying zero taxes back into the economy. The Freedom Dividend is basically your right as an American citizen for helping make America the the richest country in the world. Yangs proposal is basically that you are a shareholder in your countries wealth. No American should be in financial despair. It takes a while for this to sink in (Years of brainwashing by the people at the top). This is why Yangs campaign is so important - it's world changing. Yang Gang call it the 7 stages of Yang. Stage 5 is "This makes sense". It takes time Josephine. It took me 4 weeks for it to click. I hope this helps. It becomes easier when you watch Andrews long form interviews and town halls.
