Jim E Yang clearly has serious issues with the media based on what he says in this podcast and at other times. But for whatever reason, he has difficulty confronting the media directly. It took him forever to finally call out MSNBC and now he’s a CNN commentator.

@@stanbap Yang called out MSNBC from the get go at his after party from the first debate. CNN changed their attitude with Yang after the second debate- MSNBC did not and was forced to months before he dropped out. The ironic thing is that not even the people driving this shipwreck are aware that the way they're doing it is affecting them mentally as well. They need our help just as much as the rest. The awakening has needed to happen for a long time now. What's stood in the way is the way it's been communicated with too much hate, anger and anxiety, which is perfectly understandable - but a truely enlightened person like Andrew knows better and seems to have perfected his rhetoric to a tee, so as to be able to draw in as many people from different sides as possible, which naturally is what you need in order to optimize the chances for success. Super salient, wonderful and unexpected conversation. 👌😎 Kudos to JGL being an exceptional guest! Backdrop/set looks on point as well! All the right pieces are coming together, you guys are doing fantastic. Continue steering the strategy while keeping this machine going in a well oiled fashion. Consistency with excellent episodes will start to create a positive emotional response and association with the Yang brand. This positive emotional response creates investment on the part of the audience. Attention is not investment, so getting people in the feels, repeatedly, over time will achieve that buy-in. Think hundreds upon hundreds of episodes / clips. Momentum is effectively the only currency of success and you guys are rolling strong. We are on a really long trek here into the future, Yang gives us hope, and we need to keep that hope healthy without devolving into skepticism, anger, cynicism and apathy due to the late stage cap chains which grow heavier by the year. We're all elephants roped to a chair, immobilized by our conditioning. You guys are going to show us all how we can escape that damn chair by not accepting the status quo. Now that this podcast machine is going in the right direction how can you look at things such as nuturing the right relationships to get a Netflix doc for Andrew Yang on UBI - or a topical series investigating what other countries are doing (similar to Zach Efron's on Netflix.) The irony being is that our government approved $600 a week but balked at $1k per month due to their conditioning that unemployment is acceptable (yet somehow UBI is not). We need to win the culture war on establishing what is and should be acceptable (preaching to the choir). The movement's connection to Hollywood can (and should) be leveraged into becoming omnipresent in our culture. Keep the momentum going, we're depending on it.

Same for many kinds of sports, like motorsport especially. Formula 1 as example, in recent years there where (or still are) 5 sons of former drivers. And one guy is a son of a billionair who just bought an entire team. I don't blame them for taking the opportunity but its clear that without the right connections talent is no door opener anymore in many places. But as for music industry, its a little bit developing back to where you can be independent thanks to the internet. The problem is the internet the same time because there is not much room to get that attention to make a mega hit like in times where 4 boys from liverpool became world famous. There is a bit of an inflation of creativity.

Timebanking doesn't have to be a top-down endeavor, as far as I can tell blockchain technology was practically made for this. What friction is there preventing blockchain from democratizing this timebanking concept? I'm sure I've missed something important and smarter minds can fill me in.
@jperin0014 жыл бұрын
That's a great fusion of concepts. Hopefully this can be or has been demonstrated. Otherwise, the last thing most Americans want is a federal government doling social credits. The implications of the latter are playing out in China. Open source and blockchain have the potential for democratizing the world.
@TheHighPhilosopher4 жыл бұрын
Blockchain is definitely a piece of the puzzle. Check out different projects like Brave Browser, Coil, and speakers like Jarod Lanier. The trouble is convincing people to move over to these democratized systems. It will take time
@xandercorp61754 жыл бұрын
@@TheHighPhilosopher There shouldn't be much convincing to do if the systems are made in a way that creates value for people. There isn't anything stopping any capable actor, governments included, from implementing these needed systems - though it must be democratized, made self-sufficient, and "released into the wild" so that government can't cock it up and doesn't need to upkeep it. If you can't find immediate value to offer people, you haven't implemented the concept properly. Think about it. We want this system in place to incentivize and reward those actions that are in reach of many and are good for society but aren't compensated by the existing monetary scheme. There are so many engagement strategies in the existing environment. First place I would start? The people who are already doing these good things, without compensation - they are already doing the work! If presented to them as a way to double their impact, ie. they do the thing they want to do anyway, but bank time that can be used to compensate someone else doing the sorts of activities they value. Even if you just start with these selfless people "paying" each other, it is a functioning core loop that can serve as a proof of concept; and there are so many more options than that, such as timebankers (gotta think of a better name than that) donating their banked time to others as a method of intake into the timebanking ecosystem. Basically, it's not largely a matter of convincing. If there really is a gap and a need, timebanking will fill it and acquire users almost automatically. Because money is taken out of the equation, there's no one-sided enterprise desire to expand beyond the need. The biggest frictions to implementing timebanking are probably administrative, which everyone hates. Make it dead simple, streamlined, effective, reliable, free, and transparent - who will object or resist? The people already undertaking these activities? The people benefiting from them? The people who would not or could not have contributed their time before timebanking, but can and will now? The new beneficiaries of the increased capacity? I suspect that some people have already thought hard about this and found answers that make sense to them. But Andrew's been careful not to decide anything behind closed doors; he believes in democratic solutions generated by public discourse and he wants to see that people have an appetite and an understanding of how this could work and what this could mean. No one of us is as smart as all of us, if we just refine our thoughts best we can and put our contribution in the pot and struggle it all together so that the cream floats to the top.
