P.S. Further to my comments below on Canadian aboriginals, I am not an ignorant party. I have lived with the Crees in a northern village, I have worked for them as a Band secretary to the Chief and Council because they could not find qualified Indians at the time. I have worked for the Mohawks both for pay, and substantially for free and I stood with them, physically, shoulder to shoulder in the front lines during the "Oka Crisis" when they confronted the federal troops landing on their soil in military helicopters. I helped them prepare their legal proceedings heard at Federal Court every Friday to try to throw the troops out. I have seen the beautiful housing complex that was being built on the hill in a northern Cree community, they choose to live the best life that white ingenuity can provide for them. The Mohawks resent the Crees because the Crees made a lot of money selling development rights for hydroelectric facilities. I know who these people are, I'm not talking out of the side of my head about it. They had serious local social problems, including gun battles in Mohawk communities over tobacco and alcohol; and fist fights outside polling stations in Cree communities to try to stop band members from voting in local elections. Etc., etc.

Gaza for one is loaded with oil and gas that belongs to the Palestinians. If Palestine had state recognition, this could facilitate their search for investors and bankers to get the drilling going, and bring in wealth to their communities, including sufficient wealth to build a real military to make Israel think twice. Why doesn't someone help them out right now to develop the oil and gas that belongs to them?

Looks to me a bit one sided. There's no question that Palestinian people suffered a lot. However, the blaming is put squarely on Israel. There was no discussion on who to blame. The word "Hamas" was not mentioned even once. The massacre of 7-th October was not mentioned like it never happened. This talk did nothing to come to a realistic solution. One that takes into account Israel's right to survive and live in piece. Pushing hate and blame only on Israel while assuming there's no fault inside Palestinians (specifically Hamas, and in general the entities that supported Hamas) is only ensuring the next war in which more Israelis and Palestinians will die and suffer. Looks like this is exactly the goal of the organizators of the event. It looks to me they just want Israel destruction and ready to sacrifice any price, even mass suffering and death of many people. A balanced discussion would also involve all the reasons for confrontation. Like the fact the Hamas terrorist organization took control of Gaza by force from Palestinian Authority. It rules Gaza by terror. Spent aid money on preparing for war with Israel and radicalizing people to hate Israelis and blame everything on Israel. Hamas goal is Israel destruction.
