Tips* 1. Encrypt everything (With strong and not shared password). *Do not use same password with different thing* 2. Don't write your password down the paper. 3. If someone knocking your door make sure you are fully shutdown the system even it's just a neighborhood come to meet you some reason. (Alway think it's your lastday to be free) Don't make the mistake like the other case.

Would be an amazing tool in the future to be able to use at a software job. To be able to plug in your own system and virtual work station without having to learn the company's entire new way.

Why is KodachiOS not on this list? its like the community is ignoring it. no one has a real reason when asked. maybe you have an answer.
@yanivhoffman16 күн бұрын
@@mr_daihatsu fair question so let me try answering it and it’s my opinion ok (ofc can be arguable). I believe that KodachiOS is good for general privacy no doubt about it. But its resilience on 3rd party VPN and pre configured tools might be point of concern for advanced threat models. This is my honest opinion so would love you or anyone else educate me if I’m wrong
@mr_daihatsu16 күн бұрын
@ you can just change the VPN settings out in your own etc. the creator of the OS does a deep dive into the OS explaining everything. It’s preset to be out the box sure but it’s as easy as editing the file to whatever you want. Check his video out bc idk I think no one watched it and just see the top level of the OS. Been using it for years and nothing so far has me questioning it. Everything is decentralized with DNS as well. Idk love to hear your thoughts more after watching the video

Excellent and informative video, as always. Worth mentioning though that Qubes is quite particular about hardware. I had hoped to employ some older hardware to try it out but no luck. It particularly seems to dislike older Macs. Oh well, when my next generation of kit is done perhaps it'll work on it or I can get a used model of Thinkpad that is compatible.

Not all privacy operating systems can be hacker's trusted OS. Because there are updates every end of the month due to repository compromised or whatsoever but the devs are responsible for delaying the update of new version of privacy operating systems so... Um.. yeah also i have read the tails os website currently that there was an attacker who is able to see user's activity from tails os. it means no system is safe but at least it can help mitigate the possible attacks.

I haven't used Linux in quite some time, due to disabilities and health issues. My desktop PC runs on Windows 10, and it won't be supported by Microsoft at the end of the year, if I remember correctly. So I was trying to decide if I should look into installing Linux on it, when the time comes. But, I want to try it out on a portable USB drive for now. What would be the easiest one for me to try? I know that there are a lot of other distros available. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Take care.
@yanivhoffman13 күн бұрын
Based on what you wrote here, I to start with Tails on a USB drive which is an easier experience vs WHONIX and QUBES. it should also have no problem to run on your system and its pretty friendly. If you go with Linux from start try Ubuntu Live USB which is great for general use and easy to navigate. Both are simple to set up, so you can decide which suits you best. hope it helps
@TheOriginalWolfCrane13 күн бұрын
@yanivhoffman Thanks. I will need to get another USB thumb drive, and give Tails a try. I was also looking at Pop! OS, Linux Mint, and Ubuntu. My Lenovo desktop runs Windows 10, originally 7. I inherited it from a family member. I can't really afford a new computer. So I am hoping that I can get a couple of more years out of it by using Linux. My previous computer was an old HP Elitebook that was given to me. I have slowed down in the tech area, due to health and disabilities. Everything becomes a mountain to climb, instead of a simple hill. Thanks for the suggestions. Take care.

There is no secure. I have used Tails OS and it got hacked in seconds. I have used Tails OS with a VPN proxy on a router, using WPA 3 with very strong passwords, TOR, Sandboxing, I have Firewalls built in, I agree that Tails OS is the best you can do using Incognito mode with RAM through TOR etc,,, Hacking Tails OS in seconds is impossible. This seems so alien but it didn't solve a thing. Tails OS is hackable in seconds with whatever the gov has. Laws broken left and right.
