I can't believe you actually heard me when I started yelling "heat....bro....heat"! Nice job...a sort of pre-cursor to the power driver. Best wishes and stay healthy.

An ugly duckling has just become a beautiful swan. Really impressive restoration on a tool most people would have given up on.

If you place the slider switch to the middle it should lock the mechanism so you can use it like a regular screwdriver. Got the same one myself. Great job in this restoration. 👍

I've had several of these in the past and found them most useful in starting drill holes in somewhat awkward positions. The newest versions also have Phillips head drives too.

My father had a very similar screwdriver.

I have the same one that is still in good working order. My issue is the crud that keeps growing inside the plastic handle. How did you clean the plastic so it won't grow back? I might just have to break mine down to repaint the red. That looks so nice restored! Well done!

I've owned several of these. They look so beautiful - I've had both the short ones, like this, and the long ones. The thing is - they are almost impossible to use. You get to the point where the screw is almost all the way home, and the screw bit slips out, skating across the wood surface, and, as you are still pushing, gouging a deep spiral scratch as it goes. Decorative, but absolutely useless. Or is it just me?

I agree with you and that's why at the end of the video I didn't take the test because of this.😂😂😂

Nice resto...I recently ran across this same one at an antique shop, in mint condition $6. Should I go back and grab it??? Subbed!
