That is when I discovered Yankee in the South, and I've been a fan ever since. Without a doubt, I've viewed everything you've got on your channel. I love all the videos of that area. I had started watching them around early 2020 Myself. And that fall we went to the Smokies. Our last day there on our way to Cheeroke we saw the yellow jeep. I had to stop and meet them, Really great people!

I have to tell you I watch your videos all the time. My husband and I decided on a long weekend anniversary trip to TN. I KNEW all the best places to go. We had breakfast at Applewood Farms- over the top. Dinner one nite at the Melting Pot. Incredible. Got lost at the top of the Smokey Mountains and just loved every second here. Sadly Dollywood was closed so we couldn’t get there. Thanks for all the great tips.

You didn't mention Howard's in Gatlinburg! It's an institution... They have beautiful outdoor seating next to the river and it's been recently remodeled inside. They have a great weekend brunch and their burgers are fantastic. The food in general is awesome! We always go to Howard's, it's not to be missed! As always, thanks for the updates. I always look forward to your "What's New" videos!

Thanks for Sharing Yankee in the South: Everything looks like fun; I tend to opt for free river rafting trips down the dams and rivers. Including swimming in the lakes and standing under waterfalls, over water parks. Michigan much like Tennessee has rivers and lakes, including waterfalls, dams and rivers running through it. We also so have several waterparks as well, close by and I have never been to a waterpark, because there are free swimming holes all around me. -keep up the great work. I'm excited, this sounds great, I will have to checkout Sevierville while I'm working in Pigeon Forge in 2025 on my next working vacation in the smokeys.

We LOVE Texas Roadhouse. They have a consistently good steak and fresh salads. We love breakfast at the Five Oaks Farmhouse. We haven’t been to Apple Barn in a long time. We need to go again soon. We will be back in a couple of weeks. I checked on taking the grandkids to the Pirate gold, but it seemed pricey for almost $20 for a 6 year old to play putt putt (he loses interest about hole #6 usually). It does look super cool though.

When they knocked down the Riverside Motel in downn townn Gatlinburg they paved paradise and put up a parking lot as far as I was cocered.My fondest memories of family vacations when I was a kids where stayed there many, many times over the years back in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. My husband and I even spent our "Honeymoon" there 5 years after we got married.

A guy that works there told hubby that the new building there at the AppleBarn is going to be where they make their apple cider. Love the Blue Moose! I love their homemade onion rings and the sauce! One of our favorite restaurants.

I can't believe they took the wdding chapel out, like they say nothing is forever guess it didn't make enough money definetly needed more parking. Thanks for sharing! We just got back tonight from hanging out in Gatlinburg and walking around and shopping all day. No crowds at all! Best time for us. I don’t suggest eating the buffet at that Shoney’s up there though. The food was not good, like it was left over for a while and my husband could not finish the chicken and other items and my salad was not good and the dressing was runny too. The breakfast I could barely eat. Should have gone to the Pancake Pantry. Wasted $46.00 on it.

I’m taking my husband on a honeymoon after 10years together and marriage. We’ve been focused on kids and my horrible health in and out of hospitals surgeries etc and are ready for the trip in May! Just don’t go to Caddes Cove! Quickly turns into ‘stop and go’ traffic. Been there twice, always takes 4+ hours. They should charge admission to cut the traffic down.

We were married in Gatlinburg in 1995 at the Little Log Cabin church out 321. Sadly it’s gone, too😢 We love that whole area and are pretty familiar with all the “nooks and crannies” since we’ve been going down there for years. My husband’s aunt owned a “cottage motel” in Gatlinburg and also built a log cabin in 1932 on the Roaring Fork motor trail. The cabin burned down in the fire a few years ago and the cottage motel was torn down several years prior to the fire. So many memories of these wonderful places, now gone😢 I sure miss “old” Gatlinburg. Thanks for the tour😊 Have a blessed weekend🙏

Important note: when in Gatlinburg there is NO free parking unless you keep your vehicle at the hotel you are staying at. Country Inn and Suites has limited parking for their guests (the numbered spots along the side ARE NOT part of their parking--you will get towed. If a day trip, there are City parking garages on each end of Gatlinburg $10.00/day, and other lots for $20.00/day.

Unless something has changed since the year we moved away from Sevierville, you can park along River Road for free. That is, if you can find a spot.

And you will get towed quick! My uncle parked in a spot, and his truck was towed within 30 minutes after parking. Don’t make this mistake, you will pay a hefty price that cuts right into your vacation money.
