What an inspiration Jacques life has been and still is. I well remember Howard Johnson's menus. There were many items I seriously loved. The fried clam rolls for one. He once mentioned that those large clams that were used in preparing them have been fished out. It's a shame because they were delicious. For roadside dining HJ was my place to go for a great meal. That was in the 1960's and it would be great if they could be reopened. I think they would be a hit today. Thank you Jacques, we all love you.

OMG! Though nothing could beat a lobster roll or clam roll from out on the cape, those Howard Johnson’s were the next best thing… And the hot fudge sundaes decadence! I still remember traveling down the highway and seeing that bright orange roof… You always know you had some good food in store.

I can remember watching him (along w/ other greats such as Julia Child, the Frugal Gourmet, Paul Prudhomme & Justin Wilson the Cajun Cook) on PBS when I was a little kid in the early 80's.
