I was feeling the same, I felt if the Yankees don’t hit a home run they weren’t doing anything

The only gold in bullpens is guys like Ron Guidry who becomes a starter and goes 25-3. A one-inning wonder? Maybe they struck Bauxite. But probably Iron Pyrite (Fool's Gold). I think your propensity for exaggeration is growing.

Hopefully we can either scrap or fine tune Cruz's fastball, love having another high strikeout reliever too

What good are strikeouts when he is giving up runs close to the other 40% of the time?
@YaBoyyJohnNBA24 күн бұрын
@ His fastball and cutter currently reek, but in Matt Blake we trust
@fernandoposada544023 күн бұрын
After what happened with holmes, sevy , monty , etc . I dont know how anyone could still put so much trust in blakr
@YaBoyyJohnNBA23 күн бұрын
@@fernandoposada5440 Matt Blake and the Yankees pitching staff quite literally revolutionized Clay Holmes lol. He’s a really good reliever, and might end up being a good starter as well. Sevy was tipping pitches, Monty’s always been mid or slightly above mid when he was on the Rangers. Look what Blake and the staff just did with Weaver, Hill, and Cousins
@fernandoposada544023 күн бұрын
Still not enough to have so much blund faith in blake . If sevy was just tipping pitches then why did it take a move to the mets to fix that ? Blake had an entire season to fix that problem and didnt . Monty with eovaldi carried the rangers rotation in 23 to a ws title . They dont make it to the ws without monty . And that was after he left ny too. And the jury is still out on weaver , hill and cousins . Lets see how they do next season . And as for holmes he was an inconsistent reliever who turned back into the garbage was before coming to the yankees . So blake in the end didnt do much for him

It took him til early 30s to reach the MLB and has a career ERA over 4.50. I'm sorry but I have no expectations despite all the KS. If he was 25 I'd be excited but not 35.

His splitter is elite. 60% whiff rate and a 0.160 avg on that pitch. They will scrap his cutter. Yankees have done more with less lmao Matt Blake is a wizard
@fernandoposada544024 күн бұрын
Blake is no wizard . Enough of that bs
@clarkgimenez957624 күн бұрын
@@fernandoposada5440ok he’s actually not a wizard he’s just very very good at what he does. This is a good project for Blake.

3.75 Era away from Cincy, that’s not good. You guys are over justifying this move, it makes Cruz look even worse than he already is. It sounds like you are trying to convince yourselves he’s a good pitcher,
@fernandoposada544024 күн бұрын
On top of that he is 35 years old , how much could he possibly have left ? And of course now they dont have a good option for a back up catcher and have to pray wells stays healthy . This trade could be a disaster regardless how the pitcher does
@firesideyankees23 күн бұрын
We talked about why he could get better and what the Yankees might do to help him, that’s all lol

Reliever ERA means almost nothing lol

Doesnt change the fact that the trade could still be a disaster if wells gets hurt
