🙏🏾Relievers... It would be cool to get M.Miller (A's). The way he closed out the game against our middle of the lineup was impressive. Overall, we need relievers. Hopefully, bring up Dominguez and get/ trade for a very good 1B or 2B that are good contact hitters and good defensively.

We better do something or we are going nowhere in the playoffs. As much as I can’t stand the guy if bregman is available we need to pursue that angle. Rizzo, dj, and Torres are not going to give us any consistency this season and will come up short time and time again in crucial situations. We need to bolster the lineup.

Rizzo about to turn 35 but let's remember the guy beat cancer, hard to imagine he doesn't feel closer to 37, 38, 39 at this point. I think he's cooked. Concussion doesn't do this for a year.

@@jamestemple8970 I mean 32 HR and 130 OPS+ in 2022 ... maybe was still not a 'prime' overall year for him respective to his whole career but that's a lot different than the way he's completely fallen off the cliff in the past calendar year. Big difference between his slow decline 2020-2023 and what has happened 2023-2024. Big difference.

@@OroborusFMA Yeah I get it, but typically that's either extreme higher grade concussions or people who have had multiple. Also NFL players are dealing with regular head trauma that MLB players are not. I'm not a Dr. and I haven't seen his tests but far as I know, originally this was a low grade concussion and he didn't have a history of them.... I mean do you have a good specific example of an NFL player who hadn't had a concussion in years then had a minor one and never came back?

I don't see the Yankees making any impactful trades this deadline. They are getting Cole back, which pushes Poteet (a great pickup by Cashman) to long man or possibly back to Scranton to keep him stretched out. Effross and Trivino will be back by August at the latest, and will likely blaze due to them being FA's and wanting to prove they can still pitch after a couple of unfortunate seasons lost to injury. Gil will likely be heading to the bullpen once Schmidt returns from the IL to lower his innings count, a 2-3 inning pitcher for certain as fireman. Yes, DJ, Rizzo and Torres are stinking the place up, but I don't see the Yankees trading much for replacing them as at least 2 of them are FA's that need to be replaced by prospects in order to keep costs down on the push to re-sign Juan Soto. The biggest bat rentals will be overpriced for the Yankees for certain in terms of prospect return, as it always is when it comes to the Yankees. I would stand pat.
