Hopefully if the Yanks make the World Series, they bring Sterling back for a one-off

Ayyyye, I'm deeply missing the iconic John Sterling already 😢 I've been a loyal Yanks fan since the late '70s -- even growing up in "enemy territory" in Massachusetts 😅 -- but wasn't able to listen to their games on the radio until I moved to NJ in the early '90s. As much as I like & respect Michael Kay and Suzyn Waldman, Sterling was that "steady rock" of Yankee broadcasting for me for those entire 30+ years, up until a couple of months ago. While all the incredible players/coaches/managers over the past nearly 5 decades (including SEVEN World Series championships) come first to mind, I'm also thrilled to have lived through the eras of Sterling and home announcer Bob Sheppard. There is no replacing those two Yankee vocal Legends !

Yanks hitting is off the charts, maybe a little early to start referring to them as 'Murders Row', but when half the starting lineup can hit 400+ foot dingers, one after the other, its gotta be scary for the opposition.

Hardly mentioned by the post game group and other commentators: Gleyber's HR and sparkling defense tonight. Might be he has realized what a horrible season he is having and has decided to FOCUS! Similarly, Rizzo's solid defense (look at the misplayed grounder by the Royal's 1st baseman on Dugo's hard grounder. Rizzo probably fields that. Also, Rizzo hit the ball hard for the sac fly.

Agreed, and Kahnle is arguably the most troubling. He was decent in his first outing or two off the IL, but was subpar tonight & versus the Dodgers this past weekend. Hoping he can regain his steady form. 🙏🏻

@sharkfintech5893 when kahnle can't throw his change for strikes, or near the strike zone, he becomes a one pitch pitcher.
@sharkfintech58934 ай бұрын
@@Surfer041 Fo sho, agreed 💯. Kind of similar to Holmes in a sense. Holmes is a 3-pitch guy (sinker/slider/sweeper), but only the Sinker gets into the 90+ mph range, and he often has location issues with it when he throws it high (Sunday versus the Dodgers was a good, recent example). He's usually an effective closer regardless, BUT can be exposed when that Sinker location is way off -- like his meltdown on May 20th against Seattle. I typically prefer Closers in the classic, flame-thrower tradition of Gossage/Rivera/Chapman. While overall they've done a good job, Holmes and the entire Yankee bullpen have one of the lowest Strikeout ratios in MLB so far this season (hard to believe, but true). 😩 We should cross our fingers 🤞 that that ticking time bomb 💣 doesn't explode on them in must-win games !

The pitching is still the weakest point, if they don't make 11 runs they don't win, they are winning with the offense, they scored five runs against the New York pitching and that is very serious in a world series.

@@squireman123 You are just another fan who doesn't know anything about baseball, pitching is 60% of the game. And they are winning because the team has a good offense and the day they don't have a good offense they win a game. Learn that, KC made 5 runs.

@@Affect_Salty Pitching is not a problem because they are very good offensively, 8, 11 runs produced in the last games, if the offense falls they will not reach the world series
