One of the best games I’ve seen in a long time!!! Soto fouled a ball off his ankle/foot and then hit a 2 run homer the next pitch!!! Wells Sac-Fly and Jazz with the walk off win baby in the bottom of the 11th🔥🔥🔥🔥 Not only did we win the series today, but Baltimore had the lead in the top of the 10th and then Boston with a 3 run homer to walk it off and put Baltimore 1.5 games behind us. Let’s turn on the Jets the rest of the season boys we got this🔥🔥🔥🔥

I was happy to see Boone pull Holmes after his 12th blown save before they scored any more. Usually he leaves guys in until they're down by 5. There might be hope for us yet!

It wouldn't have been a save, it wasn't the 9th inning. But I agree, Holmes gave up one run, but he left with the game tied, rather than trailing.

Yes, it counts as a blown save in a game that he would never had a save in? Should MLB should start counting holds?
@markzuckergecko6212 ай бұрын
@@cambonious23I think it counts as a save if you come in 7th or later, 3 run lead or less, including inherited runners, and you close out the game for the win. So it's a blown save if you come in 7th or later in a save opportunity and either surrender the lead or a tie. A hold would be coming in the same situation but not closing out the game. So if Holmes had come in the 7th and not allowed a run, and was replaced in the 8th, he would have gotten a hold.

Great to see the Yankees actually make it happen in a tight game, we haven't had dramatics much this year, we either kick ass or lose close games.

Dan blessing us again 🙏 84-62 at the moment, wins in 4 of the last 6, 2 straight series wins and 16 games left in the season. Like I said before I don't expect to sweep any of these remaining series. So I'll take the series wins. It's been a long season and this team is still scratching and clawing to the finish. My confidence is still high and let's see what next on this road to a possible championship. Like always gentlemen stay positive if you can 🙏. GO YANKEES!!!!#CHASEFOR28
@markzuckergecko6212 ай бұрын
Yessir, we've been scratching and clawing, but so has everyone, there isn't a consistently dominant team in all of MLB right now. The Phillies were for the first half, but they've come down to earth, Dodgers are always great but there's inconsistency in their lineup, Orioles are tough as hell but their pitching just isn't that reliable. Yankees are just as poised to make a playoff run as anyone.

Gil looks like he's ready for the playoffs. 2 outings combined coming off the IL 11IP 5H 1R 4BB 12K. This kid has been more good than bad overall this season. The scary this is that he's going to improve. Earlier in the season his command wasn't that good, but he's improved as the season went on. I'm confident in him in a playoff game and he'll be pitching for years to come in the Bronx.
@markzuckergecko6212 ай бұрын
My biggest concern is him going deep into games, he usually only goes 5 or 6. Which is acceptable by today's standards, but I'm not sure if they're just monitoring his pitch count or if he just can't go that deep. If he can't, he may end up being a bullpen arm. Either way he's impressive.

I am a Big Yankees fan. They won but they are Very lucky. The skill set throughout the season has been bad: running bases, defense, not running hard to 1B, advancing the runner, 3B base open to steal. Overall, simple baseball. I am not sure if that's on the manager but much needed in the playoffs. A team good enough to win it All

Then when Soto got hurt, I said, I bet he hits one to the seats. Then finally I said why do I feel like Trevino is going to miss this catch and KC are going to run in. And then of course we decide to leave at the 11th inning and miss the walk off!
