It's going to be so exciting to see what the 75 footers will achieve next year, I can't wait! I love old traditional boats and their vintage/ classical technology and I would love to hear what the old timer cape horners that used to sail through the roaring 40's and around Cape Horn clinging to the yards of those venerable sailing ships would say about these AC speedsters, I'm sure that they would be highly impressed and amazed. I remember a time when America's Cup sailboats were beautiful, majestic. Sadly that era ended with the catamarans.

Why is everybody moaning about the boats design? If you don't like them, it's very simple, just go win The Auld Mug & you get to say how they should be for the next one. Tho' these ones do scare the life out of me, hope noone gets hurt or worse this time around.

The first event of the 40s was a complete joke. No wind, no rescheduling, instead sent them out on the water to watch them bob around like bathtubs. No final showdown. Now we have to wait months for any future racing, not a good look for the America's cup.

An irrelevant "race" weekend, ruined by unsuitable weather. Look at history, once upon a time if the weather was marginal, AC racing was rescheduled for another day. Now it appears dominated by "schedules" drawn up to suit TV broadcasters. This is a bloody disaster. That wasn't a race series, it was a space filler. I can recall the embarrassment of watching boats like Sceptre and Sovereign and yachties shake their heads with wonderment at their dismal performance. The kind of racing we saw this regatta plumbed new depths. We watch this free to air on KZbin. The AC is about spending money, not making money, although if you check out GD's take home, you might well wonder. To finish the moaning, FFS quit doing sailing speeds in kilometres, SailGP does it to make the racing sound fast, they also have TV schedule addiction, but they do need the money. Finally a request, please show us the hydrogen technology for the new chase boats at work, and how it operates.

It was a regatta, of course in the America's Cup races, it would be rescheduled too.

Been sailing for nearly all my 72 years and the foiling AC is rubbish and boring it's like watching go carts, no crew work no sail changes Fast doesn't guarantee great racing 😢

You don’t like it. Win it and change it or tune out. Just like everyone before you. Brutal fact I’m afraid. Or learn about the skills needed to sail far faster. You might be pleasantly surprised.

In Golf, people think fast Greens are the best. Good Greens are great Greens . Can’t use fast Greens on links courses used to windy conditions. Having said that, the technology advances in sailing which are huge should not be stunted,so a class system is already in place for Sailing, who chooses?

Sorry to say the America’s cup races have become a joke it’s no longer true sailing competition but a glorified drag race for what can’t be classified as what the competition was for sail boats.

Let’s be honest shall we? It’s not a single hull. It’s a foil catamaran / trimaran with a “monohull” representation in the middle to appease the traditional “luddites” who are still quite insecure about it because, deep down, they know, that monohulls are old news…antiquated…sleepy…geriatric. The boat is essentially the foils arms, and what sits in the middle of them is almost irrelevant. Ideally that center section would be much, much smaller. The boats are pathetic as they are unable to sail in light air without assistance and are wildly unstable. They are also quite dangerous, and I fear serious injury is looming. You do a great job of promoting, but to most of us it’s really quite silly. The monohulls, so butthurt by the catamaran success, are losing their minds trying to make monohulls 😂 relevant again. Only problem is that everyone knows this is no monohull. It more like a Frankenstein science project, and the cats overall are still WILDLY faster for a fraction of the cost.

Oh and these boats are awful, AWFUL to look at. About as aesthetic as a garbage truck with the box up in the air dumping trash…

In aviation traditionalist say that real planes have a round engine and two wings , a biplane , so now I see a real boats have one hull and one sail , a catboat .
