Live at the Acropolis! That’s how I discovered Yanni! My favorite is “Aria.”

Niki Nana (from China ... or actually any of his concerts that contain it) will blow you away. He wrote it as a child (and he doesn't read music, by the way ... he has interpreters who convert his "music shorthand" into something all of these trained musicians can read).

I’m a big fan of Yanni. One of my favorite sons from him and one of my all tie favorites is “Love Is All” ….one of the only songs Yanni did with vocals…It’s sung by Vann Johnson at the Taj Mahal…long intro and then it explodes
@phaneserichthoneus88952 жыл бұрын
He's done quite a few with vocals since then. My favorite (of all that I've heard) is "Secret" off the _Truth of Touch_ album. Oh my... That song... That'll be one of those I never get tired of hearing.

I first discovered Yanni years ago when they televised Live at the Acropolis and I've been a fan ever since. I can close my eyes and I can see that music in my mind. Floating colors and shapes. It's almost like an out of body experience. His music and musicians are absolutely phenomenal.

Yanni is fantastic! I was such a fanboy back in the day :) if you start reacting to him, you MUST do the live performances rather than studio recording. I think you will have a much better experience that way :)

yes yes yes...live performances! More of them. The entire Live at the Acropolis is essential!

@@silverwolf8277 _Acropolis_ is fantastic, but _Tribute_ made me burst into tears. I love that one just as much. And I also like the studio versions of many songs more. Just depends. One song I have NEVER heard performed live, but is one of my favorites, is "Street Level" From _Out of Silence_. I absolutely love that. I wish Yanni would freshen it up. I remember he said he thought about reworking Optimystique, but decided not to because it was from that time in his life and he wanted to leave it as it is. VERY electronic album. I'd also love to have a produced version of Yanni's demo tape of his submission to do the soundtrack for one of the _Terminator_ movies. It included some reworked tunes from one of his album songs (I can't remember which one), and a driving, energetic beat.

Earlier Yanni music is very synthesizer-heavy. His first release, _Optimystique_ , is very synthetic to the point of surrealism, but very creative. The next album, _Keys to Imagination_ , kept at least one person from committing suicide-something I read about. The first album I heard was _Out of Silence_ . "Street Level", on that release, is something that I've never seen performed live, but it's one of my favorites. The entire _Tribute_ album is absolutely glorious. I've been listening to Yanni since 1987. I'm kind of partial to the studio work, but that doesn't make the live performances with an orchestra any less magnificent. In later years, he got into more organic sounds as well as vocals. This "World Dance" is kind of an unusual style for him, actually, and as far as I can tell, he's letting the other musicians take the stage. I couldn't tell what he was playing in that particular selection. If you want something cool with an interesting and unusual rhythm, listen to "Wishing Well". :) Thanks for the reaction!

This old man is a long time fan of Yanni. He's an incredible composer and surrounds himself with the best musicians from around the world. There are so many songs to choose from, but one of my favorites is On Sacred Ground. The vocal solo by the incredible Alfreda Gerald, and the kick-ass violin solo by Sayaka Katsuki are some of the best I've seen. Here's the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnrCpWCuadmVY7c

Love it; thank you!! I have only seen a handful of Yanni reactions which is sad because everyone has Loved his music. Definitely like a comment below; the videos of live performances are the the best. My favorite album is Tribute. Perhaps you can react to Deliverance: www.tumblr.com/dashboard or You Only Live Once.
