I geniunely love how you highlight the fact that Jing Yuan acts as an amazing guide and mentor for Yanqing, and that geniunely is so good for his growth as the character that he currently is. Especially through the use of patience and restraint that is something that he can struggle at times, when he jumps into battle not for the sake of wanting to be a battle maniac, but from him wanting to be of service and desperately trying to help Jing Yuan like when he went solo to arrest Blade, the Heliobi, or while confront Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae and Blade. He is definitely the one character whose growth I am happy we, as players, get to see his journey and growth. I loved the video all the way and the music choice was amazing. The use of the Lefterian Archipelago's OST was perfect. Also thanks for the shoutout!

Hey thank you dude! No need to thank me for the shoutout, it was natural I should return the favor. And yes it is an interesting detail how both versions of Yanqing are very impatient, but the reason as to why they are is vastly different between them. I'm super excited to see where his development goes from here. Maybe next time we go to the Luofu, he'll have had a growth spurt and get a new special limited form lol

Before all the stuff of 2.4 and 2.5,Yanqing is probably the only character in Luofu with acceptable writings. Like you can see him actually progress as a character through events: encounter with Jingliu,got his ass kicked by Blade and DHIL and then in the Ghost Hunt event you can see him actually have doubts about himself(bro should pick more fights with ppl of his league). Then the 2.4/2.5 quest showed more of his progression to become more matured and more responsible all the while still have his childishness showed from his competitiveness against Yunli. All of which is genuinely good writing As much as i hate him for spooking my rolls,he's in top 3 best written hsr character Kinda hope he get smthg later like a new form or smthg(maybe he can be a destruction ice character :) )

Not gonna lie, I never got why he got that much hate due to mischaracterization like… if they actually bothered to read about him before these last updates they will find out he was a really polite boy… his texts messages are the pure proof of that and how he worried about angering Dan Heng in his astral express visit back in 1.1 Also his relationship with Jing Yuan is complex, and it’s mainly the reason why Yanqing was so pushy on wanting to catch blade, he wanted Jing Yuan to trust him, wanted to show him he could be his most trusted aide for real (Yanqing left in that scene because after all, he’s his teenage son, normal teen behavior even for the most polite of children, especially if he knows Jing Yuan was bullshitting with him 🤣). And seeing him sad after realizing he never mentioned him to Huaiyan broke my heart 💔. So yeah Jing Yuan is your average Asian father… Not the best emotionally but the path to success is there lol But yes, he was overconfident and impatient- just like Feixiao mentioned she also once was. And so was Jingliu during her first battle as a child (is on her character stories, she also got her ass kicked there) He always had hints of getting an alt sooner or later since his origins are unknown since launch. There are a lot of emphasis of how Blondes aren’t natural on the Xianzhou alliance in Luocha’s character story and there are a lot of hints of him having some hints related to the abundance + him being confirmed in having the same ice powers as Jingliu that she got by other forces instead of naturally or through cultivation also makes him sus… so maybe in 2.4-2.5 they had to start working on his popularity so he could sell lol Anyways- Good video I’m always glad to see more appreciation for my boy (as much as I hate how some hard haters switch up and still mischaracterized his former self back in the 1.X patches, but it’s understandable since it was Hoyo’s intention in the first place…)

@@MeiMeiyo-b1p yeah the switch up on Yanqing’s rep is crazy. His character depth was always present and he was getting some solid development early on. I used Black Star’s theme for my intro, but he really is similar to Black Star in how they were seen as super annoying early on and lost a lot of fights, but eventually proved how powerful they really are and everyone liking the characters as soon as it happens lol

@@shiromatsunoki Yanqing is so similar to those young masters in modern Xianxia novels… at first they give the superficial impression that they are the typical brat and loser but then you see how hurt he is from Jing Yuan ignoring him hard after he almost died by Blade’s hand (Daddy issues is so common for them you will be surprised). Or in the ghost hunting event how Jing Yuan realized he underestimated how hurt and how depressed Yanqing would get after he planned him to get humbled by Blade and Dan Heng (never expected Jingliu though)… Maybe he was the real reading comprehension test of the game because calling him superficial after 1.5 (not even 2.4) was still wild A good example for this archetype is Jin Ling from the untamed, who also had a lot of pressure on being the “heir” of his clan

Something the video didn't touch is that the Honkai fandom HATES the kid's HI3D counterpart with a passion. Fu Hua, the other Yanquing's teacher, is a beloved character among the fandom, and the kid's HI3D counterpart betrayed her, so a common joke is that the kid getting humiliated over and over again was Karma for his alternate's sins. only because of these defeats the boy has broken free of his other self's fate for the better and will become his own person.

oh yes I am aware of how hated Ma Feima is in the wider honkai fandom. Wasn't aware the joke of him losing over and over in part stems from that hatred for the other version of the character. But it is interesting that just like I talked about in the video is that Ma Feima kept winning, while Yanqing lost multiple times and learned to better control his strength.
