This was a weak apology, but I saw he put out a better one later, so credit to him. He’s young and made a mistake, it happens. It is a little funny though that he’s wondering why someone is being toxic to him after he pulled the exact same thing on someone else. Don’t forget that Mawkzy quick chatted Nwpo before Nwpo started spamming.

No clue if this will ever reach him out, but: Hey @Mawkzy, you're right, it is a lot of pressure to have so much attention and high expectations put on you at such an young age. You're a great player, at the very top of the game you chose. I too agree that it can be tough and unfair even to receive the things the spotlight may bring, such as haters and tocixity around you. If that happens to you, then I'm sorry. But also, you should keep in mind that being a famous name in the community brings responsibilities and, even being young, you're responsible for the things you do and say. And if you tease others and try to create beef, that can turn around to bite you in the ass. Even if you don't mean it in a serious way. Even if it was joking. That is something you'll have to learn and the sooner, the better. The message you intend on sending doesn't really matter, all that matters is how the receiving end will understand it. So if you don't want to bring unnecessary heat, avoid creating beefs. You're a 16 yo kid who's damn good at something and you deserve to be proud of that. But drop the attitude, learn that you're not invincible and especially, learn that treating others poorly will always reflect on your image, not on them. Even more when it's not in the heat of the moment, when you're being really offensive in people's DMs. I have a brother as young as you and it would suck to see him in a bad spot for his behaviour in a videogame. Hoping you find your way and get your act straight. You're talented and you can have a bright future ahead of you, but it's definitely not gonna happen with your current attitude. I just don't think it's fair you get forever marked for your mistakes as a 16yo dude, but you gotta do better than what you just did. Wish you luck and success in your career, man.

Mawkzy needs to understand that he was getting shit for having been rude to NWPO. And he should learn that instead of trying to explain “Sorry, I’m not perfect” you should have grace and focus on “Sorry, I’ll make sure to do better (in this case handle frustration better) next time”. Even though what he’s saying is pretty accurate and heartfelt, it’s not the right way. The right way is to take ownership of your mistakes and of your own improvement and not make excuses even when they could be seen as valid. I feel for Mawkzy in this one, because he probably wanted to be nice to Yan and felt like he was unfairly treated. But it all stems from how you set your example. Really hope he hears that message from somewhere and makes an effort to leave the salt behind. Ggs and gl growing from this and letting it be a minor thing. Always fun to see these guys play :)

Can we please stop claiming servers with 80-90 ping being an excuse as an "away server series"? Some of the best in 1v1 have played on 150 ping every single match without issues, 80-90 is not even noticeable. It's not 7-0 because you had 85 ping. It's impossible to like Mawkzy, farming for sympathy at the end of the game loosing 7-0 after winning like 6-0 in game matches against the best of EU and NA in the recent tournament. Then claiming someone being toxic when he is literally the most toxic 1v1 player I can think of. How Mawkzy got like 2-3 accounts top 15 and Appjack got like top 3 and Yan straight up murders them with 11-4, 7-0 etc. 1v1 just doesn't make any sense sometimes or maybe what I feer - the best just aren't playing 1s, like Zen and Yan pre 2022-23. @Feer This is directed to you individually as well as anyone who visits your channel, obviously the many wishing to reply with "TL;DR" go right ahead, I feel this needs to be said here and now. I'll explain what was going on with Mawkzy's comments during his last two series. Rocket League is an international game, certain limited aspects of the design are clearly intentionally 'American', this includes the standard quick-chat entries. What follows here is with that assumption in mind. I am an American interpreting the quick-chat as very specifically American in "style". Let's cover the second series first. When Mawkzy (I do not know Mawkzy, I'm not his advocate) sent "I've got it!", this was a self-deprecating and amusing usage of that standard comment. He was making himself like a noob, who is just about to score his second goal ever in Rocket League, and is so over-excited about it that he just has to announce it to everyone in advance. There is a universal problem with quick-chat comments for professional players, however, and it is this: While a player is coming up through the ranks, certain comments start to develop a certain "feel". When those identical comments are used later on, they can unfortunately be misinterpreted in that "old" way someone saw them as a beginner, instead of in the new way that it was intended. Another example of Mawkzy using quick-chat in a new and different way but it being misinterpreted, is when he sent "Well played." after Yan won a game. I'm about to give a very specifically American English interpretation. When coming up through the ranks, "Well played" tends to have two very distinct meanings, and almost never a third: **** Meaning #1: When there is an extremely close game, usually when one team scores a goal, then the other team scores one, and back-and-forth, right up to the end of the game. 0-0, then 0-1, then 1-1, then 1-2, then 2-2 etc. Saying "Well played" at the end, means that every moment of that game had a second layer, where everyone playing felt like an outside observer as well, really wondering how it will end, there was that added tension and suspense. **** Meaning #2: This has happened to me, and I'm assuming most of us, from the earliest noob levels: a freestyling team suddenly plays your team, and commences destroying you: doing aerial shots when you can still barely powerslide, they're clearly on comms because they are passing back-and-forth flawlessly, etc. Whenever that happened to me, I would grit my teeth and even though I knew I and my team would lose badly I'd try to demo every chance I could, jump across our goal to block aerial shots, etc. Even when my side lost 13-2, the other side would send "Well played", meaning even though you guys are a bunch of beginners, you showed a lot of heart. When Mawkzy sent "Well played" to Yan, it could easily be misinterpreted as one of those early noob-level meanings, but that is not what Mawkzy meant at all. Yes I have actual proof of this supporting my case. Recently when Mawkzy played RW9 (before the finals), suddenly in the middle of the game he sent a chat message "I literally have no idea what to do against your defense". It was probably the kindest, most self-effacing message any pro-player has ever sent to another mid-game. (RW9 of course thanked him.) Mawkzy was not 'tilted' during that game, and he was not 'tilted' during this one either. Unfortunately when one pro sends another pro "Well played" it can easily be misinterpreted to mean "You're lucky this time, I'm so much better than you but you lucked out this one time", because the other pro is accustomed to that quick-chat message meaning #1 or #2 above. ApparentlyJack and Mawkzy have something in common. They both compliment their opponents who are playing extremely well, and both of them learn very deeply from their own mistakes and play that same opponent much much better the next time, often winning handily. This is what Mawkzy was doing here. He is still learning the (very formidable) "new Yanxnz" playing patterns. He did precisely this against Zen and Rw9 and Daniel during the recent finals, and we all saw how that turned out. He lost to all three of them in earlier series, learned from them (in that inexplicable way that he does like some kind of super-AI), and then went through the entire finals beating them all. Mawkzy is constantly losing to a top-level player during one series, then beating them the very next time, because like some kind of Terminator Machine he learns their fundamental playing patterns. That's also why he commented that he tends to win BO7's but not BO5's, he needs the extra time (2 games) to adapt to the player in front of him. (He never says that part aloud, I'm providing that.) Of course that didn't go according to plan against NWPO, but it shows he is self-aware of his own methods and limitations. When he commented about NWPO that he'd sweep him the next series, he is simply confident that he has learned his playing pattern now, and will counter his style the next time. That's all. Nothing else. He lost one series now, then he'll win the next one later. The exact same way he did this with Zen Rw9 and Daniel in quick succession. I have nothing to say about Mawkzy comparing how much money others have made compared to him, and other such comments, those of course are indefensible. What I'm indicating here, is that he is a bit of a prankster, a spoiler, and part of that is sending self-deprecating comments or spontaneous messages mid-game, while he is adapting. Fairy Peak occasionally did something similar, for example when he was losing significantly to OKhalid during one series he suddenly sent a message "Be careful!" mid-game and started winning and ultimately won that series against tremendous odds. I think the biggest problem is that when Mawkzy sends a message intended to be humorous, and the other player misinterprets it as being insulting, arrogant, etc, he (Mawkzy) does not send a simple follow-up message such as "A bit of humor!" to provide context. He (Mawkzy) then seems to immediately assume the other player is arrogant for not finding it funny, and then the unnecessary war-of-words begins. Of course what I'm about to suggest won't happen, but after a certain rank in Rocket League a new set of quick-chat comments could/should be made available, with the idea of "pro-versus-pro" peer conversation, rather than having the same noob-level easily misinterpreted comments. For example, instead of "Well played." there could be a new equivalent "You got me!" or "Great performance!" If that were sent by Mawkzy to Yanxnz, there would not have been that ambiguous tone that is so easily misunderstood. That revised comment at the end of a game would be very obviously positive and complimentary. There's more that can be said, but this took a while to write and it relays the basics of what I've intended to say. Have Mawkzy read this and I'm quite confident he'll reply "This guy gets it". Yes I know this is an "unnecessary" essay. Within the live chat (Johnny_Boi & Feer) and the video comment sections, there are comments that the overall chat is becoming very toxic. That seemed to begin to develop in these recent Mawkzy games too, but did not need to. Those initial comments he sent out in both series, were harmless and amusing in intent. I'm still not sure why he compares money though.

You guys are too caught up in the small things. Mawkzy being a little toxic with quick chats isn’t a big deal. It’s part of the game. This being said, I don’t know what the dm’s situation is with nwpo. What I will say is He’s a teenager. He’ll grow. But quick chatting is a hilariously insignificant thing to get upset about.

You have to understand that mawkzy behind the scenes is almost universally disliked, mostly due to ranked toxicity, not even including showmatches. I think he wasn't being toxic in this series but it's so likely that he is toxic all the time that Yan decided not to humor it I guess.

Dear Mawksy, If you think life is hard trying to become the best at a game that will never get you anywhere in life, try being an adult and going to work to support a family. You have no pressure, just wait 😂 You need to get out of your parents house and start paying rent before you mention being “under pressure” My advice, stop focusing on a video game. You’ll wake up in 10 years and realize how no one cares that you were good at rocket league.

Dumb comment. This guy is like 16-17 and he follows his dream. These kids are in school aswell so not the 20 years old that are just streaming. And oh boy having such a pressure by casters and fans is intense. Making a mistake and everyone is laughing at you. I don't want to change with him and being 16 and not experiencing any work or stuff older people experience doesn't mean he has an eazy job.

@@bntheyoutube Another really dumb comment. So we can't criticize a thing because we could chose otherwise? Can't criticize the government because you could move to another country? The internet is a toxic place, he's watched by ten thousand of people that make fun of you, are toxic, and talk about mistakes you make. That's a problem he has the right to address. Doesn't mean he needs to change his hobby and part time job. I think he learned his lesson and even tho he was toxic af he can talk about other people doing this. That's his right to speak and he's indeed right with it.
