What Yaoyao allows is Kokomi to run full EM without losing the comfort of healing for the active character. My level 80 C1 Yaoyao runs 30k HP with lvl 5 talents, threw her into Alhaitham's team in the Abyss and she actually kept me alive and healthy the whole time. 4p Deepwood with HP%/HP%/crit rate and fav lance. I wasn't expecting much but I actually ended up liking her a lot.

one thing to note is that around 9:57 when he swaps to just using nahida instead, there was a NOTICEABLE drop in team HP. yaoyao isn’t meant to do damage. she’s a replacement for kokomi and barbara (or prototype amber nahida) in nilou teams. i also enjoy her in overworld as well. and as someone else said, her burst is more of an emergency heal, like barbara’s. because all you need is nahida or another dendro get get those blooms, now you can take a hydro character that does much more damage, as there are many options-ayato, childe, xingqiu, yelan… she also can apply dendro when, say, collei and dendro traveler are on cooldown, or if the enemies go out of their range. in that aspect, sort of supplementing teams and helping with option diversity, she’s an amazing unit even at c0. in addition, kuki has her issue of lowering her hp when she activates her skill that can lead to getting accidentally oneshot if you aren’t careful in abyss, so she’s also a good support in aggravate/spread teams. personally i run her on black tassel to aid in healing, and with another dendro unit am not having trouble getting her burst up when i want it, but i haven’t tried in abyss.

She can heal A LOT more. You don't even have a healing bonus circlet on her lol. Mine is level 70 with level 6 talents, 2 piece tenacity HP/HP/Healing + black tassel, and heals 1632 + 425 on her E, over 20,000 HP to each party member on her burst. At level 90 with higher talents she's probably an amazing healer. I hope you'll try her out with a better build in the god mode, even if the artifact set isn't deepwood :)

She's a competent healer in Nilou bloom and even keeps me alive against the wolves in 12-3-2. Level 90 and 1-7-6 You just need to build her to 90 and her healing is good enough. Also there's no need to build EM on her for bloom since she's not triggering much Same for Nahida you don't need to build lost paradise on her for bloom(doesn't trigger alot to justify it). Deepwood set is much better as you can reliably shred dendro resistance

I think after dendro arrive, we casual player literally have to watch decent guide on how to build the character. Their kit seems simple but theres a lot of nuance like yaoyao or alhaitham. If you only look at yaoyao healing number it would look really small compare to bennet or kokomi but after learn where she can be slot. she really great on nilou or aggravate keqing. She really help outheal the bloom damage so we dont have to run kokomi + barbara, just her + kokomi is enough. Alhaitham also same, if you dont learn his combo or really understand his mirror mechanic you will find his CD really long with short uptime then find his damage really bad

yaoyao's E and Q have special ICD like collei where she doesn't have the 3 hit rule but does have the 2.5 second rule, and every 2 seconds she can generate 1 dendro particle making her a decent battery for on field dendro DPS, her healing has faster ticks than others so its actually not that low plus even if shes targeting an enemy, her radishes have a small aoe so if you were meele, you can still get the heal. her Q is meant to be like barbaras where its an emergency heal, and her Q also has the same special ICD as her E too. her best teams is being the dendro applier for aggravate, while in nilou bloom you still want another dendro. a popular team suggestion for nilou yaoyao bloom is nilou candace (collei nahida or dmc) and yaoyao and yaoyao being the bloom trigger as she can trigger bloom with candace hydro infusing her NA and her E and Q, she does want ER sometimes however if you dont care about her burst you dont really need it. her best sets is deepwood and tenacity however 4p instructor is a good but niche option due to it being stuck as a 4 star.

One of my favorite teams to use with her (assuming someone hasn't recommended this already) is Yaoyao, Yelan, Xingqiu, and Shinobu. Shinobu has around 800+ EM while Yaoyao has a lot of ER and HP. The rotation being her skill, Yelan's burst and skill, XQ's burst and skill, Kuki's skill (and burst if possible), and Yaoyao's burst and skill. I've been having fun with this team, so I thought it would be a nice idea to try for her god mode. Ofc there's probably better teams and you don't have to take the suggestion.

I feel like the reason why her burst duration is so short is because it's like a Barbara burst but over the course of 5 seconds. High, team wide healing in a short amount of time. I just treat Yaoyao and Barbara's bursts as panic buttons. In the unlikely event that she ever gets buffed, I would like to see her burst bunnies stay on field for the same duration as the skill and give her standard icd. Personally, I think it would be far more interesting if her a4 passive had higher scaling, like even 1.2% would be good, and healed based on the target's max hp so that she can somewhat keep up with Zhongli, Nilou and Yelan's massive health pools.

I think aside from having to stay on field during her burst, she seems pretty good. Even then, maybe there are some teams where that's not even too big of an issue just because of downtime in the rest of the rotation? Overall I'd say a good 4pc Deepwood user in aggravate/spread teams (especially so with Nahida) and could be pretty good in co-op since you wouldn't be switching characters as often, but aside from that she's just okay. Not great, but certainly not bad imo

So I actually gave my C1 yaoyao maidens 4pc hp/hp/healingbonus with black tassel (i dont have homa lol) and the heals aren't bad at all. plus, few characters give dendro dmg bonus/have the potential to give that. its nice for my Tighnari once he puts down the little taunt field and finishes his three shots you can just run around as yaoyao without being stomped and heal the whole rotation while making a few particles. hope this helps!

Dendro Traveler ain't worse. It's mostly the most reliable standard baseline for a Dendro Support. I can agree with comparing Yaoyao to Collei but to Dendro MC it depends on what your team utility needs. Ah, I just love seeing ppl build a character as a sub-dps and expect them to be a good support/healer. But no, seriously dude. If you want her to be decent in a certain team, you gotta build her for it and not just throw on one set and expect her to be a jack of all trades. For a healer build even tenacity would have been better (because her skill procs often), but for best healing you'd give her 2p/2p healing sets with hp. She goes well in aggravate teams as an emergency healer, I hear. In bloom comps she def needs EM, like the paradise lost or gilded, and your whale-ish Nahida is much better off with that aggressive deepwood.

I've personally been having some fun with yaoyao in my nilou teams. I run nilou yelan alhaitham and yaoyao, Yaoyao on clam set and alhaitham on deepwood (I was gonna go for gilded but I got such good deepwood pieces that I just gave up and went with it). Yaoyao can actually heal quite a lot, she was healing for like 17k with my burst talent only being at level 1 which is pretty nice. She can get clam off pretty easily as well. The main thing with yaoyao is just managing ur usage of her, she's more of an emergency quickswap if u need healing thru her burst. Outside of that her skill should be enough to have some reasonable amounts of healing if you build her around it. I use clam on her to make sure I'm not missing out on any damage when I do use her burst, and she can stack it pretty well too. Personally I'm happy with this unit since i don't own kokomi or nahida 👍

hi Moga, you can try this team for bloom (her best scenario) Yaoyao with full EM, Nilou, Nahida and Candace. You need to make all the seeds with Yaoyao and Candace ult, it's kinda weird but it works very very well! Also, you don't need Yaoyao with dragon's bane, you can put some favonius for extra ER. Unitarget with this team it's so shit lmao, but with multitarget it's so good. Starts with Nahida E and ult, Nilou next with her elemental skill, Candace elemental skill and ult (try Candace with favonius as well) and then Yaoyao with ult and elemental skill, run and jump with some basic attacks. c:

My suggestions: Yao Yao heals are not bad at fully raised and she helps keep 2 teams ( that I can think of ) alive.(variants to those teams exist yes yes): Nilou bloom with Kokomi/Barbara | nahida | Yao Yao - since Kokomi is full EM yao yao is there to help with healing and a bit of dendro application on enemy. Cyno | Yelan/XQ | Nahida | yao yao - cyno on EM sands can proc both aggrevate and hyperbloom and since you don’t want to dodge a lot and lose damage - she helps keep him alive AND carry deepwood/NO for the team. When in danger - use burst and run for it (hehe)

my highest YaoYao crits consecutive 18k dendro green attack. in my team using xingqiu wlll make more dendro seed, using Raiden will activate those seed for attack. and lastly sucrose for increasing em. using 4 piece hp artifact. compare to Jean burst, YaoYao burst offer faster healing plus her damage are quite good. what I always do, sucrose skill - throwing doll - xingqiu skill and then her burst - Raiden skill and burst - sucrose skill plus burst - lastly YaoYao burst as my last attack.

i don’t even have my yao yao leveled and her dendro application is literally so good in aoe. shes great. using off field characters that do a lot of damage is better, that way she can stay on field for the entirety of her burst

I use her as a pure healer in my quicken team and she does great there. Her burst healing is so fast

I think she’s pretty good at what she does. She’s no Kokomi, but she certainly does everything you need her to, even at C0. Admittedly, she does require a lot of field time, which can suck for your overall DPS, but I expect people will warm up to that over time, like they did for Kokomi. I definitely like her more than Alhaitham, which is saying something cuz I’m a Keqing main. They really took Keqing’s kit and decided “let’s make this more complicated and give it significantly more cooldown on everything. So yeah, definitely getting her from Lantern Rite, just so I can avoid the Al and Xiao banners.

I'd recommend trying her in a 2 dendro 2 electro team, she can battery an insane amount of dendro particles and consistently reduce def with deepwood

This raising was definitely a bit unfair to Yaoyao imo. You did a split build on her, brought her only to 70(something that impacts non atk scaling characters much more harshly than their atk scaling peers), and questioned her low healing. Black tassel has an HP sub stat and is only a three star polearm, you lose the fav utility, but with no reason to have crit rate, triple HP will be the only build left. Bring her to level 80 1/8/8 and you have a pretty rock solid healer with little needed investment.

I use her as a driver in a team of Beidou / Fischl / Kazuha and it works great. No need for deepwood there so she's on a full healing ER set.

The only way I can think of Yaoyao having two bunnies on the field is maybe Thundering Fury or Gambler coupled with anemo resonance.

I took my Lv 70 C0 Yaoyao to Abyss 12 first Half und she did very well keeping my Yae Tighnari Team alive. Thats all i want right now and she delivered. 2 Pc MIllelith, 2 Pc Gilded full HP, Circlet is Healing Bonus.

I've got my yao yao in maidens beloved 2x hp% 1x healing bonus. Skill level 5. Level 70. Fav lance. She heals 1,100hp on skill per tic but you gotta switch in & out to refresh her skill a lot still. I really wish the skill & burst lasted longer / off field
