I`ve read excuses about Raphael hesitating when MC is drowning (like she could breath underwater etc). And since it`s up to us to interpret the scene, I don`t argue about it. But, in my head canon, he did hesitate and the thought of leaving MC did pass through his mind. I like complex feelings and relationships. And their relationship is complicated. You can love someone to death and still resent or be angry with them, even when they aren`t to blame. The quiet thought "wouldn`t everything be better if there was no MC?" could exist for a brief moment. No temptation to lead him astray. If, like you said, Rapahel has no clear memories of their past lives, all he has in the present is the stories he must have heard and his current feelings for MC. He cares a great deal about his people, and maybe the choice he made in his past life felt ilogical to him before meeting MC in person and falling for her all over again. You can watch something happen and say "how could they have done that? I`d never do that", and later, in the same situation, make the same stupid choice. So, yeah, I really like Raphael`s dark side in contrast with his sassy side. It makes him such a rich character.

Fun fact: Ever is very likely experimenting on Lemurians. This is shown by Micro Universe World Underneath Chapter 6 Page 02/05 where Rafayel's student, Michael, asks where LCMEC cells come from and is told that they com from "Lem-somethings" from a long gone civilization but he shouldn't ask further questions about it. Before that, Rafayel stares at the cell's name in silence when Michael shows the art he made of it in chapter 5 page 06/07. It's a cell that Michael is actively experimenting with as a part of his biology internship but he isn't being told the story behind those cells. The internship is at the Gaia Research Center which is where the main character was experimented on. That tid bit was given in Josephine's Sealed In Dust World Underneath logs--Chapter 2 page 01 where her MC's "grandmother" lists her job title.

@@AngelsCornerr Oh, and in that same World Underneath where Raf is said to be 6th on Ever's execution list, one of the chapters has an audio clip from one of the scientists that went on an expedition to Lemuria. Apparently, Lemurians had some connection to protocores before the Chronorift Disaster ever occurred (Ch. 5 Pg.2). I believe that Ever is using Lemurian biology as the basis for many of their experiments with prolonging life--the primary goal of Xander Sciences which was founded by Raymond and has been acquired by Ever. Ya know, since Lemurians are meant to be immortal or at least to re-incarnate. The dwindling number of Lemurians is likely because of Ever preying on them while they're unprotected (hence so many are kind of in hiding like the old man in Raf's Misty Invasion and maybe that one Lemurian woman from Raf's Abyssal chaos story). Later on, in Philosian history, of course, they're treated like slaves or pets of the higher caste and need special gear to even continue existing in the harsh dry conditions of the desert. It's heart breaking how much they've gone through.

Infold do leave us wanting more of their myths, their backgrounds, their pasts or behind-the-scenes when the MC was absent from their lives left unsaid. A huge gap of what's going on that spurs them to do what they do. Honestly, I was a Zayne girlie before I become a hardcore Rafayel maniac. Because back then, all I saw was a whiny, bratty, a total drama queen brat in every possible way. But then I found out his myths, his anecdotes, his duality that keeps me wanting more and drawn to this guy. He was an assassin for God's sake! He still is if you start thinking about it! Under the guise of an eccentric painter... *A heartbreaking fact is in the anecdotes, where Rafayel attended his aunt's wedding, Talia asked him whether he ever thought or imagine his own wedding before, he solemnly replied, "No."* It makes me sad that people often overlooked his character and favor the others more... like Sylus for example. I hope your videos can reach out to the rest of the LADS fans out there. I can hear you yapping about all the Love Interests' lore anytime and still enjoying it! Thanks for posting this video!

Yayyy! I've been waiting for this as a Rafayel girlie❤ He's my husband 🤭 Jokes aside, I love his character and lore a lot. Lots of people just see him as a sassy unserious character but when you read his lore, you realise he's only like this with MC and a completely different person with anyone else. It makes me appreciate his ways to be so unserious with MC and always trying to make her laugh. An always occurring theme in his cards is him being insecure about his real self, when he's not acting all happy and care-free, like in his misty invasion card where he asked MC "Will you like me, no matter who I become?". Same thing in his Nightly Rendevouz card. He's genuinely so romantic, playful, tender and it kinda feels like home when I'm playing his cards, which makes him my favorite. I read somewhere that MC killed Rafayel because she was under a speel or something. After killing him she gets back to normal and cry cause she killed her lover (this is hinted in the painting when MC has like a vision of the sea cover in blood and a woman singing a Lemurian song while crying) Rafayel never habor any hatred trowards her because he knew she was not herself at the moment and that is why she became the Abysal witch, as a punishment from the sea for killing its God.

@@AngelsCornerr On that note, I’m not sure if it is related but there is the siren’s song anecdote (ch04 improve 3/10) where a detective encounters Rafayel telling him that the woman siren who killed their lover in the play was a merman instead (maybe hinting towards the story being about him and mc?), I don’t know if it ties to this theory or if it is about something else entirely. (correct me if I’m wrong) I love Rafayel’s lore; because it’s layered with mystery, you think you know him but you really don’t. I keep wanting to learn more.

It also reminds me of the old guy talking to zayne about mc in master of fates. I personally find his character more morally grey than other LIs because sometimes its like as if it's their past in lemuria that’s holding him to her. He also seems to have put her in the way of danger (sorta) in the last chapter before sylus's official entry... and it also looked like a planned move to his goal (if that makes sense). AHHH MY MAIN’S HERE !! This was a great recap! I love my fish man so much, he’s my little blorbo and he’s been through so much :(( I recently found a theory that rafayel leans on one leg/puts his weight more on one leg cause he’s got weak legs from still not properly adapting to walking/using two limbs since he lost his tail (which is why he struggled even more as a cat boy cause he had to control three limbs). Also he has scars behind his ears (you can actually see them) and it’s theorized that it’s probably cause that where his like ear fins like the phantom blue ones in land of secret flames, were cut off.

There’s something I’ve been wondering. In the tender moments Oceanic Nighfall, Rafayel seems to dislike himself or who he is as a person, and I felt that he was even disrespectful to us in most of the moment. He was even about to leave us during the main story. I’ve always wanted to know why he holds a grudge against us? If your theory is correct then it does make sense why he’s like that towards us, but if he has all of his memory, I just don’t understand why he acts that way. Joined the game for Sylus and stayed for araf in November and I haven’t looked back since. I was a bit hesitant at first about him being my main coz he was the shortest and I know that’s shallow but that’s the point of an otome game. All this to say that to me he has the most interesting story and most relevant to the main story in the sense that it explains why our MC is always reincarnating. I think all of the main characters just canonically affected the story. This is just my assumption but I think Rafayel’s heart and Zayne’s curse are the reason MC is always reincarnated (double homicide). Side note tho having two gods hate on you is craaaaaaaazy. Good luck to her I think Xavier coming to earth through the deep space tunnel is the reason behind the chronology catastrophe. Since his myth basically informed is that the first apparition of wanderes in philos during his time with MC. We don’t have prior mention of them (at least that I know of). And I think she got her resonance from merging souls with Sylus coz this is the first instance we see her “resonating” with any of the LI in a myth. Im curious how Caleb will fit into the story now. My guess honestly is that his evol was artificially created. Probably by EVER. Their purpose? I have no idea but if we go by the logic of any company, for money. It would explain why his evol is gravity and the protocole were currently trying to piece together in the story is the one capable of bending time and space. Again this is just my opinion and I haven’t played the game for long but I’m so excited for the main honestly and also anecdotes. I hope we get more of those

Rafayel seems to make more sense, but Zayne and Sylus, it seems like hundreds of years, and Rafayel's seems like it's at least the same couple of decades. Then in the clips he goes "800 years!!!" What? Okay. Hopefully your video just helps settle it for me.

The continuation of "prologue to tomorrow" which is a chapter that contains the mainstory branch of raf, xav, and zayne. What chapter is coming out? As in what its going to be called? we dont know cus its not out yet. If you go on their socials, theyve announced a new LI thats gonna come with the new main story chapter. As for what it might entails, no one knows, most likely the continuation of the current mainstory
