I am half Asian though my mom converted to Islam but I really didn't have any access with my father's middle Eastern+ South Asian culture. so I just knew the east Asian part of me😟😟sob I thought the same thing also happened with Yara but I am glad that she is fully aware of her "Persian culture" as well!!!! Im persian and wanted to say that jumping over fire is an ancient persian tradition. The traditional poetic quote "zardi ye man az to, sorkhi ye to az man" is also sung when jumping over fire, which literally means "my yellow is yours, your red is mine." This means you want the fire to take your pallor, sickness, and problems and replace them with warmth and energy. It is a purification rite, which is traditionally regarded necessary before the arrival of spring at the vernal equinox.

It's not a stupid question at all! It's the same language, we call it Farsi in our own language, but since Iran was called "Persia" in older times, English speakers usually call the language Persian. I hope this clears it up :)

They are basically the same. Persian is the English form of "PARSI". "Farsi" is the Arabic way of saying "Parsi", since there is no "P" sound/letter in Arabic language and it was substituted by F instead. (it is also common to call the language"Farsi" even when speaking Persian) You may already know this,Iran means land of Iranians. and Iranians are from multiple group of people which Persians, (Parsi's) are one of the most well-known of those. When they established their empire sometimes around 2500 years ago, they called it PARS (in English: Persia). Arabic and Persian languages are totally different languages with different roots, however some arabic words have entered in Persian literature and vocabulary with the passage of time, without the Persian language structure being changed. In Iran, the official language is Persian, however people in some provinces speak in other local languages as well. I hope this helps!
