I think I would have just left the thread in the original ball and just set it on that stand and unwind as needed. I love the baller, I want to get one of those! The stand I think should be bottom heavy so it doesn't move. My daughter in-law have me the idea if using a toilet paper stand for my crochet thread. I've think that's a good I idea! I'm gonna do that! But again, love the baller! I would have fun with that! And so much easier. Thanks for the info. Have a beautiful day 💛

the only "problem" I see is it is too light weight - I can see pulling on the yarn and pulling it right off the table

Where did you get a thread ball that big and how much is it in USA money

It would have worked better if you'd have had the larger ball of thread at a lower level than the ball winder to start.
