Hi, Litsa! Thanks for this timely video. I just finished crocheting a Mabel chicken by Oak & Marlow using a velvet chenille yarn. Agree with you in gently handling the yarn. One tip I've seen from other crocheters is to burn the end of the yarn prior inserting in the darning needle to prevent shedding. Haven't tried this yet because I misplaced my mini lighter 🙈 Velvet chenille yarn feels so soft and smooth on the hands. When I just want to take a break from cotton yarn (as it hurts my hand with prolonged use), I turn to this yarn. Stitch markers are also very helpful in locating my single crochets. Mind you, my anxiety was through the roof because I couldn't really see if my scs land where they're supposed to 🤣
