I made a similar project to the granny square shrug for my friend! I used acrylic yarn and a vintage style fan stitch to make a bolero for her wedding. I ended up doing a foundation single crochet row of 225, then doing about 40 or 50 rows of the fan stitch on top of that. Then I folded the sides over to leave some room in the middle and seamed up the bottom of each side to make the sleeves!

I ordered the same green cotton yarn and I got the black acrylic too.... I'm hoping mine should be here in a few days....I love them put together like that....I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to make with the green since I put my order in....its just an awesome color! I would love to see how yours comes out!! I got a bunch of the different colors of that acrylic yarn too so I'm thinking of a hexagon blanket because I got gradients of pinks and blues that will do an ombre design....I have so many ideas but have such a hard time finally deciding lol....

thank you for making this video, i ordered yesterday because of you and im soooo excited for my order to arrive 🥰 i ordered 4 of those colorful cakes, some random balls for beanies, scarfs etc and 20 balls of the black friday acrylic yarn (10 in dark navy, 10 in cobalt blue) to make a huge blanket wich will have multiple patterns in it (im planning at least 8 different patterns). im very curious who it will turn out in the end and im super happy that i saved sooooo much money with this order. the sale that is going on there is soooo crazy 🥰

Yep, I totally bought the green one 😅 it's so gorgeous 💚💚💚💚💚 I'm thinking some kind of tree skirt or maybe a shawl. I also got color # 10, it had kinda spooky vibes! Annnnnd of course I got a bunch of black yarn too. How can you resist discounted black yarn? I feel like we have very similar taste in yarn 😅 everything I see you show I either have, or have something very similar to it.

A good idea of combining the cotton cake with chunkier yarn, I would have never thought of combining it with acrylic somehow. I have many of the Hobbii cakes but never yet worked with them, so if I will have a problem, coping with loose strands, that's what I'm going to do. Looking forward to seeing how it looks as the colours change, especially as I have a similar colour. I was going to say that a combo of the red and black grannies would make a cardigan that pops, but since you have made enough to make the whole cardi in red, I'm not going to. Is the cocoon cardi one of those of square or rectangle shapes that is folded to make a cardi? I would definitely like to know how it is done. Also, looking for a simple summer/spring bolero to keep arms and back warm without adding too much bulk in the front. (Yeah, I know it's not even Xmas yet but I like to start the season before so it is ready on time.
@AltKnots3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it jut turning into a giant square and I’ll fold it in half. Very easy night time crochet. I’ll definitely put a bolero on my que to experiment with. I’ve wanted to create one for awhile now🎃
